WOV Files

Can anyone explain to me what these WOV Files are, and can I delete them if I don't need them. There are hundreds of them associated with projects I've done, from guitar lines to bass and all other instruments used on projects, it always seems to write a WOV file for each and everyone. Please advise.

    They are the picture of the wav.

    If you delete them you will go to hell in a handbasket.

    Not really, they will just be drawn again.

    You need the ACME WOV Player to play those *.wov files.

    hehehehe
    Just kidding.

    It's as xackley says...they are graphic representations of the waveforms
    used in audio tracks.....for the waveform display you see in SONARS audio tracks......

    Tug,

    FYI...you can 'adjust' the size of the your *.WOV cache in your aud.ini file.

    Mine is set at:

    PicCacheMB=500

    The default setting is only 20. A low setting will force the *.WOV files to be deleted once the maximum capacity is reached. They will be recreated and bump others the next time a project with audio is opened or created.
