Want to set midi track Volume and Pan to "none" - how?

I want to set the Volume and Pan for a midi track to "none".  So when I start playback the current settings of the synth are not changed.  I'm actually using SHS7 and have decided that SHS7 always sends an initial volume and pan setting that I don't want on some tracks.

Can the more advanced versions of Sonar do what I want?

PS:  The old and useful Pro Audio 9 allows a setting of "none".

Right-click each control, and choose Disable Control.

brundlefly,  Thanks for that info!  It works in SHS7 too.

I also verified that the disable/enable of the control is on a per track basis (as you would hope would be the case).  It would be nice is there was some visual indication that the control was disabled, especially in the console view where volume and pan are so plainly visible.

I noted that in the console view, if I move the disabled volume control, it automatically enables.  I guess that makes sense.

In SONAR, a disabled control will have parentheses around the value in the Track View. In 8.5.3, this was reflected in the Console view as well, but in X1, the parens are missing in the CV.
