Warm Audio

What are people's thoughts on the Warm Audio stuff? There stuff is right at the top of my budget (one of those could buy once per year items) and the 'real' stuff only exists in my dreams haha. Particularly interested in the Pultec style EQ and the 1176 (although the new 2A model looks interesting too.
If I can only purchase one I will probably start with the Pultec unless there is any reason not too? I have NO first hand experience of these so basing only on reviews and online videos etc.

Amy thoughts?

I had a chance to listen to their EQ and their microphone preamplifiers at a recent AES. They sound really good - better than I expected, in fact way better than I expected. A number of friends (with ears I respect) like them too. I've got other priorities at the moment (microphones, monitors, and converters) but I will be taking a very close look at Warm when the time comes.

I purchased the WA-76 and EQP‑WA in April 2015 and have been very pleased. I use both units with an ISA-1 as a quasi-channel strip. Look - I haven't figured out how to best make use of these units but even with fairly modest settings the warmth and character absolutely SHINE. Make a huge difference. Caused me re-record 12 songs I had already tracked - it was that much better, sonically. Now I'm trying to figure how to patch them in for mixing, etc. I am a neophyte to using hardware ITB. Based on everything I've experienced/read/heard the Warm Audio stuff is a great value - just wish I knew how to use them better :-) LOL

Good stuff.  Their 1176 isn't very flexible, but then, neither is the 1176.  But Bryce nailed the edge that it can produce.  The Pultec tracks close to a vintage Pultec.  Not exactly, and there are both units at a studio I use (and I have a pair at home).  At this point, that would be the unit to get (this year!), unless you are a bass-player and rock singer, then it would be the 1176 hands down.

I should get the optical unit in soon - the first production units are due March.  It should be a killer, too.

There are reviews for the Warm Stuff in SOS, too, that are publicly available now.
