Watching Sonar tutorial videos on a widescreen TV

I have most of the Sonar tutorial videos available in the Cakewalk store going back to X1.  These come in various formats including mov, mp4, mwv and m4v.  I don't like watching videos sitting at a desk and much prefer sprawling out on a comfortable couch in front of a large screen TV (while munching my favourite snacks).  However, none of the mentioned formats will play on my Panasonic Bluray player.  I could hook up my laptop to the TV but it's not practical and I'd need a DP to HDMI converter cable which I don't have.

My Bluray player does support DivX, so I converted all my videos to this format.  It was very easy, I just downloaded the DivX Converter package from DivX, and installed only the converter.  This is a full function demo with a limited time period.  You just drag the videos onto the converter window, and you can drag a bunch at once.  Select HD 1080p or whatever resolution you want and fire it up.  For some reason an error message pops up for some of the formats (complaining about some filter or other) but if you just ignore it everything works fine.  The process took many hours (maybe 10 on my system) to convert 11gb of videos but was completely painless.  I then burned the videos onto (data) DVDs.

I can now lay back and relax on the couch and sing along with Karl or try to decipher Stuart Dick's very heavy accent.

Lol.... I'm not sure listening to my singing is a great way of relaxing, more a form of torture I'd have thought, but thanks for the support anyway.
