Watching tutorial videos offline
My studio is not internet connected. When I use the Command Center I need to drag the computer, monitors etc to the next door office to download software. That is painful. Actually, it is worse than painful, the area has slow access -- altogether it took more than 10 hours to download the files. Worse is, there is no way to watch the videos offline. Why? Surely there must be a way to make videos available to watch offline. I would like to save them, and watch them without internet connections. I did a search on the Forums and can't find any help in this regard. Thanks Jacques

Hi jacquessteyn, and welcome to this forum. I have not tried this, but maybe a "Youtube video downloader" would allow you to save videos to offline pc? When searching for things here, I use Google, and add site:cakewalk.forum in my search field. All the best.

Thanks. I tried that. But the Cakewalk video clips are in a strange format (???) - and the downloader wants me to purchase a converter. The Download helper I use understand all the standard formats - a very wide range, even ogg etc.

Thank you all for your help. I think there might have been a glitch with my Downloadhelper. Getting back to it, it did download the videos.

Please use www.keepvid.com I use that. Copy the url from the address bar. Paste the url in keepvid. Download. Select 720p (in most of the cases). Regards Snehankur

Isn't dowloading youtube vids illegal ? I'm not saying not to do it, but discussing it might be a problem.

Depends on the Developer's copyright. If Cakewalk wants their video to be downloaded and viewed offline then there is no problem. I think so.

I thought that the Cakewalk videos would be available from CakeTV (with a downloader, and logged in) for customers, but I could be wrong. All the best.
