Waves 9

Just to report Waves 9 is working great in Sonar 8.5.3 64 bit.  Needs a vst rescan, but then old projects open perfectly.  Load times for the plugs dramatically improved, btw.

Great to hear! I'm looking at upgrading to V9 in the next few days. I'm on Sonar X1d Producer Expanded 64Bit... Are the waves plugins native 64 bit now, or do they still require a bridge (BitBridge or jBridge)- I'm very curious to hear how they integrate. Cheers! Fish

Looks like 64 bit support.  Not sure what that means and no iLok required.

They are native 64 bit now (you also get 32 bit versions).

Wow - with the announcement that BFD is also native 64 bit, looks like had I waited a month, i coulda saved the $30 on jBridge (which wasn't really working too well with waves).... looking forward to checking the V9s out! Thanks for the insight!

Hi getting sonar and waves vsts to work together has been long and tortuous. I've got sonar X1d and just upgrades to v9 of waves with the hope of running my Maserati plugs for the first time since I bought them 9 months ago.

Well it loaded and hey presto it all worked all fine and dandy. The next day (and I'd changed nothing) I was unable to complete the vst scan, getting a series of error messages about missing files includes waves.ddl. When i stopped the scan I could open Sonar but couldn'thear any vst instruments. I've since deinstalled waves and the scan runs but still not vst instruments so I am worse than I was before I started.

    Anyone else had similar problems?

I'm not technical. I've logged the error with sonar who are normally good at responding but despite 2 reminders had nothing back apart from the confirmed auto reply.

Hi Neil - perhaps you could try the X1 forum.  I never had a problem with v8 or v9 Waves plugs in 8.5.3 win 7 64 bit, except those that are not compatible such as Vocal Rider and Tune.

The only other thought is that Cubase restarted with problems after Waves 9, having initially worked, as it was trying to look at fragments of the old v8 install.  I took out a load of jbridge files, it rescanned and it's been ok since.
