Waves GTR3 not functioning in X1

I recently installed waves complete and having an issue with GTR3 as a vst.  When I insert it into the track FX bin, program comes up, looks fine, but I am unable to click anywhere inside the vst, as if it's frozen.. Only way to close it is if I switch windows (to firefox or something of that nature) and go back into sonar, then it will allow me to close the window.  This is only happening on the GTR3 tool rack plugin, all of the other waves plugins work fine.  Using as a stand alone it works fine, just not as VST.

Any ideas on how to cure this?

    Sounds like a bridging issue...
Have you tried using jBridge to bridge the GTR dll (instead of Sonar's BitBridge)?

No I haven't, I have never heard of Jbridge. It's strange that all the other waves plugs work fine except GTR3.

I thought BitBridge was used for x64 versions of Sonar using 32 bit plugins?  I am using 32bit sonar on win7 x64.

Hmmm.  GTR3 works fine in X1 here.  I'm on build 246, not that that would make a difference.

I'm not sure what the issue is.. all the other waves plugins work with no issues, it's just GTR3 that doesn't. The VST loads, comes up and looks fine, but when I try to click anywhere on it to change presets, or amps, or whatever.. it just hangs there until I get a not responding error and closes the program.

Why not try uninstalling and reinstalling GTR3?

    And then rescanning.

I tried getting GTR3 to work on Sonar x1 64 on Win 7 64 for a long time without luck, but various threads indicated some Waves plugs are very sensitive to video driver issues & video settings.

So even though your other Waves plugs are working and you're on Sonar x1 32 - you may want to ensure you have the latest video drivers & check what resolution to set them at - from memory, I believe Waves was quirky with lower resolutions and lower # of color settings if reinstalling / rescanning doesn't do the trick.

    Hope that helps.

    I am using 32bit sonar on win7 x64.

OK... It's not a bridging related issue.
I saw the 64Bit OS... and assumed you were running Sonar X1 x64.

More than likely, something just went wrong with the install.
    I'd follow Ol Pal's advice... and uninstall/reinstall GTR3
