Looks like March is going to kill me... CLA, JJP, API, and I can get my upgrade to Diamond for $450 at Waves, which means it will be even cheaper at AD... YIKES... Bankruptcy here I come...

cclarry AND, I forgot to mention...Manny does POP! I don't have Kramer or Maserati sig bundles. They just haven't seemed like something I'd want. The only reason I got CLA and JJP was due to Myolpal's recommendation and a great deal. BTW, thanks Myolpal. They are nice plugs Are the other 2 worth having? The 'One Knob" series.....mmmmm,nah Other than that I pretty much have all the others . I've seen some good things about Manny's and will probably grab that when it POP's out. I should check to see how much Diamond will cost me. Can't be much, I already own most of it now. SIGH! (damn you Larry) Mike

(damn you Larry) Mike Mike, Those are the two that I DO have...and I like them....Maserati has some nice sounds and presets...Kramer...no presets... I think he wants you to "do your own thing". I got them both for like $70 each...so had to buy them..and they are useful.. not the greatest...but they are useful... I also have the API 550A/B...so will get the upgrade while it's on sale if I can... Trying to "prioritize" LOL....but I love the API ...and it would complete the "Studio Collection" for me... Also want to complete my Signature Collections... I just saw on Waves that I can get Horizon for $540....that's only $90 more then the price to get to Diamond... These sales are killing me.... DAMN Waves and me!!! =P

DAMN Waves I hear ya. This all started for me when I took the SSL demo for a ride. I bought it like 2 days later. I tried the API and had to have that too. The SSl and API are my go to, most used plugs. I didn't really love the V-Series but bought them to finish the set (I'm an addict, what can I say?) The V-Series does have it's uses tho. Then of course any respectable Waves owner has to have the Ren Maxx collection........ Somehow I've ended up with 14 Waves plug-ins, bundles and series. I just did a complete PC HD cleaning last weekend and I was looking at all my plugs. I think I'm going to keep it simple this time. Softtube, Nomad Factory, Waves and out of all my IK stuff only Ampeg SVX and maybe CSR. Along with the Pro Chanel and included plugs I just don't need much more. Oh, lets not forget Melodyne and Drumagog. I may find a few more I need to put back in but that's pretty much it for me now. I used to like the Amplitube stuff but then I got a great deal on an already cheap plug, the Waves GTR 3. It was 64 bit while IK was diddling with their iCrap so the swap was made. I like it. I usually let the guitar player that's recording build his own pedal/amp combo and make their own sound. OK done rambling. Went way out there again Real quick. So I'm pretty much correct in thinking it's no great loss passing on the Kramer or Maserati now? Mike

bapu Why don't you two just get Mercury and be done with all this anguish? I probably would but I'm trying to save my pennies for a 'for real' recording PC. But Larry (spoken like an angry old German woman) won't let me. He keeps making me buy more Waves. Mike

Unfortunately for me, I could never put that much money together (to get Mercury over the holidays...) I'm "inching" my way there...=P Pointing my finger at Waves for making so much good stuff....damn them... If I could I would hop right on Horizon....that would put me one step away from Mercury...which is my goal... but I don't see that happening...

Picked up CLA from Plugin Discounts for $105...that's the best price I've seen in the past year... JJP is my next Signature Bundle....unless Manny has a heck of an intro price... either way, after buying one of them, I'm one Bundle away from completing the entire set

That's good for CLA. I was thinking about mixing a few singles from the signature series. Which signature gets the vote for: Guitars Drums Vocals I'm most interested the guitar ones.

Classic Rock, if you're looking for that "classic" sound would be Kramer Pop Rock would be CLA, Maserati, JJP...these all work well in the right Mix... Metal or Heavy Rock would be CLA all the way... Country - I think I would use Maserati...or the CLA Unplugged... Mind you, I don't have JJP yet..so really can't say in that regards..but, based on his credentials I'd say it's geared more to the Pop side... These are just my thoughts on the matter..

Well that's the type of info I'm looking for - cheers. I agree it's geared towards what genre and style. My target would probably be rock but it's good to get an overall assessment. I may buy one or two of the guitar ones. CLA has been the one I've had my eye on and at $40 for the single or $105 for the bundle - it's tickling my wallet in a very excitable manner. Kramer for classic rock - that's now on the radar.

If you can swing it get the Bundle... 6 Plugins for $105....or $240 if you buy them individually now... Even the $240 is a huge savings off the regular price..but $105 is crazy good...

Waves has taken an interesting turn as a company. Once upon a time their pricing was unreachable for many home recordists. Today they are roping us in with these deals by the droves. Speaks to the fact that pro studios are declining and we are the future of waves. Also a couple of years ago on just about any home recordist site, Waves was quite reviled. As I read here, there is now a lot of love for them. "My go to plugs, etc." Disclaimer- I upgraded to Horizon last week and love it!

That is very true Munmun....several years ago I could only have wished for Waves...and I was making really good money then.. Now I have Platinum, the Studio Collection, 3 of the Signatures, and a whole lot more... They were reviled for being so expensive...and that created "Exclusivity"... Another reason is that Competition for them has skyrocketed...so it was either adapt or fail. It all benefits (??? - ) us. But the things we can do NOW in our Home Studios were impossible just a few years ago without hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment.

Cool! I am looking for something that can replace Thor from Reason - which I won't upgrade and can't re-wire anymore. I wonder if Element can compare. Have you tried Thor? It looks pretty cool and sounds just about right from the demo sounds

No complaints here. Easy to use & on cpu; nice sound overall & as expected for this type of synth. I've heard complains that it's noisy but I haven't noticed it. I got it as part of Mercury & probably wouldn't buy it piece meal. I'm glad I have it now, it's getting used in quite a few of my current projects.
