tbh I don't know what to buy waves wise, as I bought a few bundles / enough to cover it.

and some things like bassrider are only good with certain types of bass.

The API2500 for $29 and H-Series for $79 are absolute no brainers. This last one is also a great candidate for the 50% discount with the presonus voucher.

H-Series is nice.

Any Waves API for $29 is no-brainer!!

Home of the $29 Waves plugin!  All will be $29 at some point in time, multiple times over!

Unless Waves comes up with something unique, I'm staying away from them. I have some plugins listed over on KVR that just won't budge. The plugin market has become saturated, especially with Waves.  This is all my theory, however, to be taken with a grain of salt (i.e. unproven). Waves perhaps knew this as well, thus lowering the prices to reel-in new customers and sell new plugins as opposed to buying used.

Honestly, after ponying up and upgrading to Live 10 (still got to do the "BandLab switcheroo" for Sonar), I have more than enough coverage with decent quality, in-house plugins. It made a lot of my 3rd-party set pretty redundant (which can't seem to be sold off for whatever reason).

CPU Stuff: SPLAT / Ableton Live 10, Win10 x64, MSI M.Power Z97 mobo, MSI Radeon RX480, Intel i7-4790K @4GHz, 8GB RAM

markets changed.. can't rely on high end studios to throw money at vendors.

they can either sell items or have fewer customers.

all the london studios I used to go, most are gone due to the rise in property prices.

Congrats! A little secret about H-EQ - it sounds exactly the same as API and V-EQ from Waves with corresponding settings. I've tested them against each other. I imagine, Pultec EQ is also covered well in H-EQ.

Here is what I've found in the internets:
US Vintage = Pultec
US Modern = API

UK Vintage 1 = Neve 1073
UK Vintage 2 = Never 1081

UK Modern = SSL

Digital 1 = asymmetrical bell curves
Digital 2 = just a standard eq?

No I don't know why, do you?  It seems to be off by around $1.  Something I didn't plug into my calculator to check, as it looked pretty close to what I expected to see based on quick estimate.

Looks like your cart calculated it as a 51.7% discount.  Sorry about that, but It was not obvious to me!

Thanks again!

Thanks for the tip!  Will have to dig into that thing.  Was probably easily worth the price for that alone, but the H-Reverb and H-Delay look interesting too!

H-EQ and H-Comp are my favorites of the bundle. H-Delay is good too, but I prefer Echoes by NF and OuterSpace by AudioThing. Unfortunately, I cannot get right ambience from H-Reverb.

Went from getting a 2nd license of One Knob and changed to a 2nd license of Dave Aude EMP Toolbox.

Then there's always the fun of the Waves installer getting it right the 1st time. Took 4 tries.
Next is what DAWs don't see the new Waves without having to clear the cache and start over. Reaper failed.

So it seems.

Plugin market is over-saturated!! Way over-saturated.

Unless your selling them for $5 and they have no transfer fee, I ain't buying. And I am sure a good 80% of the others that could use the plugs feel the same.

Any plugin that has some sort of controllable distortion included I guess. Channel strips, NLS, Tape emulations, Cobalt Saphira, Vitamin, Marroquin distortion, etc. Of course applied with moderation. It's not exactly the same but I think most of this should be viable alternatives. And if you want some non waves plugs I'd try Decapitator, Saturator X or Saturn (this last one I don't have, though).

Oh... and I forgot all the Nomad Factory options, including the BBE Sonic Sweet, and all the Plugin Alliance's mastering plugs, including Refinement, Saturtor V2, the new HG-2 and Karacter, the Noveltech's Character and Vocal Enhancer and, of course, the Vitalizer that, If memory serves me well, was a direct competitor to Aural Exciter on the hardware front (although not to the valve based waves emulated version).

luckily i checked , I have 2 of the "h series" already in another bundle (platinum) and it works out cheaper to re-buy the bundle vs the 2 I'm missing (well so it looks that way) . was looking at the whole API bundle , but have the SSL bundle and am really conscious now of doubling up on things.
