Waves Plugin States copied to new plugin?

Since I updated to the latest version of waves 7.1, all my old projects created on version 6 won't load the same plugin for version 7.  I can manually add new 7 version but all my settings and automations are orphaned or lost.  So, how could I copy the plugin state (saved by Sonar) from the old plugin to the new one?

Let me see if I can be more clear with an example: I open a project; get the usual "plugin not found" message; then get the message that the pluging state is saved in case I open the project on a system where the plugin is installed correctly; once the project is open, in a channel where the pluging state is saved (plugin is in parens) I add the same plugin again.  Then I want to copy the settings from the saved plugin state to the newly added plugin (this is what I need direction on).

Hope this makes sense.  I'll venture to see what kind of help I can get from waves too... but my guess is there is a trick in Sonar to take care of this "waves issue".

One update: the problem started after I updated to waves 7.1.  Anyone else have waves 7.1?

I have the exact same problem going from Wave 5 to 7.1.  No solution yet...
