Waves Reel ADT plug in

This plug in has had a lot of positive response. This is the last day it's on sale on the Waves website. For those who don't know, it reproduces the effect you once were able to get with a tape recorder slowing one of the reels down. This is the effect used by the Beatles on a many of their vocal tracks.

I could kick myself as I bought the Pultec EQ copys on a black Friday sale and could have had this plug in and a 20% discount for buying two plug ins.

I might be back and get it anyway....has anyone here tried it ? Not much else out there to do what this does .

I just bought it. I love it so far, but it is new. I tend to love my new toys. There is a tutorial on the waves site that is a good demo for it.

I'm still not understanding why a person couldn't get a similar result by simply delaying a second vocal track. There is a free plug in that does a similar thing but honestly after downloading and trying it I didn't notice much of a difference.

Some other things are involved too like wow and flutter and frequency. I'm sure the plug in makes it all much easier.

What techniques have you used to get that kind of a result aside from having two actual tape machines or using a plug in? Anyone??
