Waves Tune Working in X2?

I just tried Waves Tune in X2, and it appears to work now ... either that, or I don't know what I'm doing.  Has anybody else had luck with this?  I am not a Waves Tune expert by any stretch, so I would like to hear from other people who have tried it in X2.  Thanks!

All the waves plugins will work....

The only thing that you WON'T get is the additional functionality that
is offered by VST 3 support in Waves plugins...as Sonar X2 is not
VST 3 compliant.

Cheers

Well, the Waves Tune plugin is one of the ones that has been on the "Doesn't Work In Sonar" list on the Waves site, and it didn't work (for me, at least) in X1.  However, I fooled with it a bit yesterday and was able to get it to work perfectly ... the only thing I had to do differently than the documentation, which states that the Waves Rewire plugin is fired up automatically, is to drop an instance of the Rewire plugin into an empty track (which they say is what you have to do for ProTools), and then it worked as advertised.

Hey LeapinLizard, I sure would like to know how you got it to work. did you get the plug to stop in the GUI where you are in Sonar. With or without rewire I get the plugin's GUI showing an arbitrary view far from where I want to see it in the song. I can only load the rewire as an instrument not a plugin in the effects bin. Any tips would be welcome.

Hey, @jimbo21:  it's been a while since I played with this, so let me take another look and see what I did to get this to work.  Glad to see somebody else is trying it!

Here's how I get it to work:
  1. Open the Browser, go to the Plugins tab.
  2. Click the Rewire button.
  3. Drag the 'Waves Rewire' plugin and create a new track with it.
  4. Click the Audio Effects button.
  5. Navigate to the Waves WavesTune (mono or stereo) plugin, and drop an instance of it into the effects bin of the track you are wanting to tune up.
  6. Start playing the song.  You should see the track that you are working on displaying notes in the WavesTune GUI.
One little anomaly I notice is that when you stop playback, the WavesTune window scrolls quite a ways to the right, and to see the material that was just analyzed you have to scroll back to the left.  Other than that, it appears to work like it is supposed to.

Thanks LeapinLizard! I did get it to work with the annoying scroll problem. I was using it on a not quite screaming vocal recorded with a sm57 and there were some plosives that it had a hard time with. I ended up using Melodyne Essential gently and that worked better for this track. I will try again with a track that doesn't have the plosives or level of screaming.
