Waves Tune

Waves Tune on special for $29 but I cannot determine if it is fully compatible with SPLAT. I see posts about having to establish a Rewire connection. All I want to know is if it can be used as a VST plugin rather than have to go through the convoluted process of Rewire.

The way I tried Waves Tune was as VST but also load Waves rewire on one track, to allow to position in Sonar timeline from within Tune. Somewhat odd - but seems how it's done.

I never got that part quite working, so a pity Cakewalk never attended to this.

But Sonar has some oddities with how timeline report position to plugin - so looping never works with Sonar. Read FAQ about one VST I use for video and aslo exclude Sonar as able to loop.

Might be related to how Tune has problems also.

I really need loop to work with Tune as well, to listen through a short section you modified.
And me too - don't like Melodyne.

I have the LT version which is included with Waves Gold and it only works using the rewire method which I believe is also true of the full version. I was forced into trying Waves Tune for a while when there was an issue with Cakewalk/Melodyne but found it unintuitive to work with and ended up making do with Autotune EFX.

I now have Melodyne Editor which is in a different league to Waves Tune. Honestly I wouldn't consider buying Waves Tune even at $29. Put the money towards a Melodyne upgrade instead.

I picked up Waves Tune Real Time for just quick track, insert tuning (no surgery, Melodyne for that).
For those times you just need some tuning to catch the minor stuff....and I would have recommended it in a heartbeat until just yesterday....

Occasional (and not repeatable) errors that sound like the plugin not buffering the audio correctly. Problem even carries over to rendered mixes (sometimes..not always..uuug)

So in case you're looking at the other Waves option, buyer beware. Looks finicky so far...

Thank you all for your responses. Seems the consensus is that Waves Tune is more work than it is worth, even at $29.
