Lets say your wup is running and you get a new plugin included , do you install the new plugin only or update your whole mercury thing ...

As long as the version hasn't increased, then you should just be able to install the new plugin...

Yeah Zo...as long as they haven't been updated (.xxx to point xxy) then there shouldn't be an issue. I believe just the new plugin should show up in Waves Central for installation.

Yep, you'll have to install the load. That's a bad way of doing things IMO. That'a lot of "lost time", just like IK's SampleTank Database "rebuild" every time you update. Poor programming.

I like how if you have Waves Central installed and buy a new Waves plug, you get to log in, do password, activate install blah blah then it throws you an error . . . . . . and then it tells you you have to update your Waves Central version to the latest, which means off to the Waves website for another download and install. Can't Waves Central just update itself to the latest version? This is a software company, right? other than that, everything's great.

I think some of the most recent updates only install as VST3. At least in my case, these are 9.2 onward and 64-bit only.

Zo, make sure you check the WAVES install directory. You should find all your VSTs in there. I had a similar issue after a full recent update when many of my WAVES plugs were gone from Mixbus which only reads VST and not VST3 ... after finding the right files in the WAVES folder all came back

Sometimes Waves Central moves your licences for some reason to the cloud. Once there they will no longer be present on your PC. Check the cloud licences. You can easily move any could licences back to your computer. I had to do this once or twice but it restores things back to normal. My music production computer is offline 99% of the time too so once the licences are back on the computer generally they will stay there.

I unistll everything , and then started to install all the newbies one by one , erasing the vst 3 dll to force sonar to use em ...it worked Then i installed an old version i kept (now i remeber why) waveshell 9.6 then some stuff get missing again (F6 and smack attack) we call em tomorow !...

Waves is always screwing with my licenses. Usually after I install a new plugin and it insists on reinstalling all of my Waves stuff. Totally stupid. Last time it screwed my licenses up, I only realized when Sonar threw the "missing plugins" dialog when loading a project. After fixing my licenses, I then discovered that even though Sonar now loaded my Waves plugins, all instances of my Waves Element synth were broken and would not accept incoming MIDI. Basically had to swap out the synths with new instances and start my sound designing again. Waves really does suck.

Tbh I wouldn't really mind them updating all of my plugins if my licenses didn't get screwed in the process. I really don't know where I'm going wrong. I don't go anywhere near the license section of the updater, I just go to "install new plugins," select the one I bought and start the update process. From merely doing that, it screws with my licenses. So annoying.

But it is, at least for me and I'm sure the vast majority, it just works, never had an issue with it, it's very simple and straight forward. I just select Licenses or mange licenses (whatever it is) just flick my new license to my flash drive, then hit install (not the easy install or whatever), select the plug I want to install, hit the button and that's that. For me I couldn't see how it could be easier, a no brainer, never had an issue.

I've only had a couple of glitches with the install process. Usually a manual rescan fixes any detection issues. My working method is transfer the licenses to a thumb-drive. Then install the VST and since my preference is to have 64-bit VST3 versions only, it means there is only one version onboard of the same effect. It's worked so far.
