Waves plugins activation?

Just curious how people are activating their waves plugs under the new system.

I just purchased the Musicians Bundle 2 (my first venture into the Waves world) and I activated them to a device. (main daw)

Afterwards I wanted to install them onto my portable daw to use when away from the main daw but it don't seem to work like a challenge/response system that I am use to.

I do have an option to place the activation on a USB flash drive and then plug it into whichever machine I'm using at the time. It looks like this is my only choice unless I want to purchase another license for the portable machine.

I know there are a lot of members here that are heavy Waves users and was hoping to get some feedback on how the flash drive activation works out for you and if there are any issues/problems/ or things to watch out for.

Kind regards,
Rick

I have a couple of Waves plugs and use the flash drive for my main DAW, which is not online. No problems encountered yet.

Using a flash drive. Makes it easy if I want to use the laptop instead of the DAW (which I do occasionally).

No real issues so far and I've done two updates since V9 came out. Had a minor issue on the first update but it was Bapu error not flash drive related.

Sounds like the flash drive is the way to go.

So I guess I just need to get back on the license server and send the license from my current DAW to the cloud and then send it from the cloud to the flash drive?

At that point which ever machine I plug the flash drive into will allow the waves plugs to work on that machine??

    Is it really that easy?

    Kind regards,
    Rick

Thanks Guys for your help. Flash drive it will be for me.

I'm really glad for the deal on the musicians bundle 2. I've only really played with the RComp so far and I had no idea that a dated plug could sound so transparent and work so well.

This isn't looking to good for the future of my wallet.

    Kind regards,
    Rick
