Weird Issue

I have a strange issue that happens every once in a while.

Here's the scenario:  I open up a Sonar Project with the intention of recording a track. (e.g. adding a bass track to an existing project.)  I hit record and play the bass part, and hit the space bar when I am finished.  So far so good.

When I play it back, however, I notice the audio of the track I just recorded starts one bar late.     This happens only once and it's always my 1st recording after I load Sonar on a given day.  On subsequent recordings, everything is lined up and there's no issue.

So as I said, it's something that happens when I start a recording after loading Sonar  It seems like I don't have this issue when I record multiple tracks at 1 time (upon starting Sonar for the 1st time)

It's a minor issue - I am not sure if it has to do with a bug in the software or something with my computer.   Has anyone else had this issue?

What record mode are you in? Are you using take Lanes?

do you have the "count in" enabled in the metronome settings?

A real musician knows the difference between the music and the notes.

This has come up a few times in the past. It seems to affect some systems in some situations, sometimes more chronically than you're seeing, but I don't believe a particular cause has ever been identified. Here's a recent thread:

Nice one Brundle....I missed that thread as I get this....

I have stopped using loop recording and lanes and just punch in and out in one take...Nothing more annoying than doing an amazing take to find its off and having to reposition and lose momentum on the song you are writing.

Btw, I am not overclocking, and I didnt have this issue before X3e.

I am not using take lanes.  I do use the metronome for count ins - and sometimes for the song recording, sometimes not.  I am also not doing any loop recordings when the issue happens.

But was record mode are you using? Sound on sound or replace old with new or blend. There are different reocrd modes. you should be on sound on sound if you do not want to get rid of or move any previously recorded audio or MIDI
