Weird Pro Channel Behaviour
Hi all, Struggling a bit with the Pro Channel. Love the sound, but having some issues, and not just with the graphics. Basically, when I enable the compressor and EQ, and then save the project, the next time I open it the saturation is enabled too. I've tried re-saving and re-opening several times. In fact, I swear one time I had the comp and EQ enabled, and I saved and then re-opened the project, and the comp and EQ were disabled and the saturation was enabled! Very odd. FWIW I was opening and saving an 8.5.3 project (the Sonitus stuff was not used in it). Anyone noticed anything similar? Thanks.
My DAW: Intel i5, Cakewalk UA-1G, Win7 64 bit, SONAR X1a Producer 64 bit

I haven't specifically done that, but I have noticed a few issues with pre X1 projects. Not including the graphics issues (which a number of us seem to have noticed).

I've just done it again for the nth time. I open the project, disable the saturation in the ProChannel, save the project, close X1, open X1, open my project, and the saturation is enabled again. I'm building up a small list of minor bugs (this is probably the most significant so far) and feature requests. I'll submit them all when the Cake website allows me to. I still think X1 is a major step forward and I certainly do not regret buying it, but let's just say I'm looking forward to the patch!

I'm wondering if it's some type of project migration problem, because I'm seeing weird issues in pre-X1 projects but not (yet) in freshly started X1 test projects.

Could well be. I might play around and see if I can come up with something reproducible in a new project...

Now I can't choose a bus to send my tracks to. It just stays stuck to 'Master' even if I use the track output dropdown to choose one of my busses. I must admit I'm getting a bit frustrated! As Billy said earlier though, I will stick this out! I believe the end result will be well worth the hassle of a few teething problems.

I can confirm this as well. 'Sat' is enabled on ProCh when re-opening either a new or existing project.

This is happening to me as well, so far only when I convert a track in a 8.5.x project from Sonitus to Pro Channel. It seems that if the Comp or Tube Sat are turned off, when you reopen the project, the indicators show as on, even though the effect actually isn't on. I did find a way to make it stop, however. If you create a new project and audio track and then save a preset of the default state of the Pro Channel, you can load that preset into your old project's Pro Channel's that are exhibiting this problem, and it will then behave normally from that point on.

Anyone having trouble with Proch EQ not effecting the audio. I've got it switched on but changing the eq doesn't effect the track audio.

Yes, have that happen. Workaround is to load a pro channel preset and it will usually re-enable. Won't keep your curve though. I've had to save presets of everything I use pro-channel on (which isn't much anymore because of the unreliability and randomness).

Cakewalk will do nothing about this unless you submit a bug report with explicit details and upload your project file to them so they can look at it. I've been round and round about the Pro Channel bugs and they won't do anything about it unless you submit a bug report. Problem Reporter
