Weird Problem w/ Froum - Anybody seen this?

When I quote a msg in reply, nothing appears but ampersand-nbsp; - the html nonbreaking space. The same thing just happened when I posted this message, without, of course, quoting anything. I just upgraded Firefox, so that has to be the root of it. Anyone else?

The forum software is becoming incompatible with most of the browsers. FF is perhaps the least compatible. It is my favorite but I have found too many problems with it and using an old version makes it incompatible with newer web pages.

There are problems with all of them though.

What we have now is disharmony!

I use IE9.  When I make a post it locks up.  I have to open a second session of IE9 to see my post and then use Task Manager to kill the first instance.  Also, when making a post, if IE9 zoom level is anything other than 100% the post icons all disappear (URL, Image, etc).  I only get this palaver with this forum, so it's not IE9.

Yes, I too use FF with its latest upgrades and I see this problem all the time. But I much prefer FF over IE, so I just get used to it. But yes, you are correct, I believe it is the browser that's the issue.

    Use CHROME!

Firefox has gone down the tubes. Internet Explorer still sucks.

FF is great for development thanks to Firebug. On here, it's lame because line-breaks don't work. So whenever you see someone with a giant paragraph response, often is using FF haha.

interesting, I downloaded a browser called "Namoroka"  which seems to be a Mozilla 64-bit browser version, and it does not have any of the problems of FF that we've noted here.    Besides the inability to pick up a Quote correctly, and the formatting issues of running together paragraphs, I had also noticed that FF wouldn't let me use any of the smileys too, in these replies.

Namoroka seems to have made the list of those browsers that works a-okay     on all the format issues on this forum.   Just tossing that in the mix here!

Yep, I have the problem as well, and I use FF for the most part. Can't use the "smileys' or create new paragraghs either, And EI is almost useless.....

I have never had this problem with Apple Safari ... Which is my go to Browser for all my downloads...etc. Yes I will agree that Fire Fox is  B.S and explore is still the same B.S  I have another go to Browser which is Lunascape6 and find that works pretty good as well.

This is one of the better browsers i have come across from a privacy stance. It is based off of chrome and add-ons are compatible but is not tied so closely with google and it's sometimes odd licensing agreements. works great on this forum: http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron.php

If you can still download it, FF5 works perfectly.

And I'm currently using IE9 on my laptop without issue

I use FF14 for nearly everything (and am pretty happy with it), but keep a copy of IE7 (the last version that works OK with XP) for a couple of specific websites including this one.

i had to ditch ie 9,it was a horror show,it wouldnt post for the life of it.
i had to click "post message" then wait for it to lock up click "close this window" from the error message and even then it was hit or miss.

its hard to punch a gift horse in the face seeing as cakewalk has the best forum around and is very leanent with double posts, foolish posts, one liners.but this needs an update soon.

This has been an ongoing problem with the forums here. CW apparently doesn't care to upgrade their Forum Software.

I have to agree with Dave on this one.  Chrome displays quotes and makes paragraphs quite well.

I think that Namoroka was the internal code name for Firefox v 3.6, which I happened to have a copy of still and went back to. See how good it is....

I just don't trust google at all.  I keep hearing chrome is great, but something about letting the largest data harvesting and advertising bot known to man take care of my browsing needs just seems a little shaky...
