Weird Saving Behaviour

OK.... So I just recorded a little idea on SPLAT. Only 3 tracks of Audio, plus an EZ drummer and a Kontakt track.

I save it as a CWB to my desktop, as I always do.

However, when I look at the track on my desktop, it's a CWP file.

Strange, but no worries, I go back in, and save it as a CWB file again.

Same thing happens. It isn't saving as a bundle.

Anyone else experienced this? It's bloody annoying.

Not sure why this is happening but it does beg the question, why are you saving as a bundle?

Bundles can be a little buggy and even the tiniest bit of corruption anywhere means you've lost the entire project

I've always saved as a bundle - I find it convenient, and I've never had any problems up until now.

There are some elements, that can't be saved as a bundle, but I don't remember what they are. Maybe something like Groove clips or V-Vocal-clips? Could that serve as a hint?
And yes. CWP is definately the recommended format, bundle only for temporary use.

Hi. I agree with what's been said above. I stopped using .cwb files years ago, due exposure to corruption.
.cwp files, and a per project audio folder is much safer.
If the .cwp gets corrupted somehow, you still have all audio and MIDI in the project folder.
If taking the project elsewhere, I copy the whole song folder (which includes the.cwp, all MIDI and audio files ++).
I've never had an issue with it.
    All the best.

regardless of the reasons not to use bundles, if you change the saved file extension from .cwp to .cwb does it open as a bundle? (does it have the size of a bundle? .cwp are much smaller)

    just a sec

And if it is a buggy format, why put it into the choice to make one?...if bugs are thus formed, and problems arise for doing that way, that it says it does do...A bug is supposed to be fixed..not left to resurge over and over and over....How long is this a known, unknown for some, and only getting the news of its flaws, when they chime in to a forum to find it a ongoing term of events?.

If this happens with out the said things in the use there of, and still the file gets corrupted, As I have noted some times happens regardless of the content....Then it should be addressed proper ...To fix it?.

Well...life time to do list...I guess is now paid for, to get it done right eh?.

Just pushing the sorted liken a "mustard seed" closer to it's promises...Must be breaded, and put in a basket of mindfulness of what needs no butter, but should be with smoked meat and rye Bread, passing in the wind. .

    Best of cheers....

Kalle, there were no unusual things in there - just the stuff I normally use.

Pwalpwal,  it has the resultant file is a CWP in terms of size etc. Changing the extension makes no difference.

Sir Les, agreed that we shouldn't have the option to choose a buggy format. If it has issues, the format shouldn't be a valid option in SPLAT.
