'Weirdstone' project finally finished...

Well, after almost 18 months, it's all done. 16 tracks available for free download if anyone wants them;

http://headscapemusic.com/music

Many thanks to those who played on, co-wrote and helped with some of the tracks; Dave Carlson, Ed Kocol, Larry Hansen and Tim Wilkinson.

On with the next album then...

    Hi, James,

How are you my friend?  Hope you're doing very well and enjoying a great summer!

Heartfelt congratulations on finishing this absolutely fantastic, extremely tasteful, and very beautiful musical gem, which truly showcases your amazing writing, musicianship and production skills!

Wonderful guitar playing and melodies, gorgeous, well-textured synths and tasteful percussion shine brightly throughout the collection, and it's always a pleasure to hear your friend Tim's vocals on a couple of songs.

Dave, Ed, Larry and Tim's contributions are duly noted and also wholly appreciated.

Excellent work, James, and sincere congratulations and best wishes!

Thanks for checking it out Gonzo, and for doing the research. Yep the 'svarts' or 'svartalfar' are 'fallen' elves, small goblins - not dwarves, those are the 'Huldrafolk' and 2 of them are heroes in the book, one dies at the Headless Cross.

Alan Garner drew on many mythologies for his book, from the King Arthur legend to ancient Nordic tales. It's been a favourite of mine ever since my sister read it to me when I was very young, maybe 7 years old. One of the things that appeals to me about it is that it's set in and around a real place - Alderley Edge in Cheshire, England.

    Glad you enjoyed the listen!

Alright first off , I don't think that James thread belongs on page 2 of the Songs Forum  especially after doing all the work it took to do a concept project of this Epic Magnitude

Yeah James , I've listened to a few of your tunes over the past couple of weeks …everything sounds very good
I like the look of your web page ,  dig the back stories and links to some of your collab mates.
Fabulous that you could stay on course and undertake the thousands of details that it tool to see your musical expression actualized .

Thanks very much Kenny! It was a lot of work, and there were a few times when I almost gave up and shelved it. Plenty of things I'd do differently now, but the main thing is, I still enjoy listening to the tunes.

Congratulations James! It's tough for me to see so much work offered for free...I do the same thing though. I'll put these on my play list! I know right off the bat you're not getting rich from this...and this means that you did it because you liked to do it and it might be even more interesting!!! I love what I've heard you do before, so I'm a bit anxious to hear it all.

Dan, Freddy, Tim..thanks for replying guys.

Tim..yep, it was a labour of love, and something I needed to get out of my system.

I thought long and hard about it, and just knew there was no way I was going to sell anything, so I'd rather people just helped themselves to the music if they like it, and maybe they'll share it amongst friends. It'll be interesting to get the stats from my website in a couple of months, see how many times it's been downloaded.
