West Coast Piano Beat (No Samples)

Haven't done a West Coast type beat since I first started really getting into beat making so I decided to give it a go: http://www.soundclick.com...11519504&q=hi&newref=1 Been doing a huge amount of sample beats lately but this is one of my few recent original composition beats so I'm really interested to hear what people think about this one! Let me know!

So, this is what a West Coast beat is.  Actually, this is catchy and hip.  I'm glad to hear something from you with substance.  I'm still waiting to hear something fully fleshed out with nuances, but this is close.

    All the best,

    Hey Matt
I'm older and probably not your market ear. But I really like the piano. Finally something different then the 808 kick drum and all synth sounds. The flow of this piece has multiple directions from being something dark or just up the tempo to Contemp West Coast. GREAT job and nice to hear talent without the SAMPLES.  KUDOS!

@ruralrocker - haha, yeah man! good to hear this brought you some inspiration!! @Lynn - getting closer haha! I like this one cause "west coast" is generally very piano driven so it can really allow for some nice composition writing in getting a nice piano line that drives the beat home! still trying to come across some inspiration that spikes me into making a fully fleshed out track; hopefully soon! @drumstixkev - thanks for the feed! good to hear from someone who admittedly doesn't find themselves in the market demo! yeah, the 808/synth sounds generally falls into the category of "trap music" or "club banga" and that's definitely not a category I want to fall into -- it just becomes completely generic and you end up sounding unidentifiable from everyone else doing the exact same thing as you
