Wet/Dry control for External Insert?

I've just obtained a Sound Workshop 242 spring reverb and it's pretty amazing but it has no wet/dry control. It's meant to be used on the aux send of a mixer where the amount of return can be controlled. When I send a track to it from Sonar with the External Insert plugin, the return is fully wet.  Is there a way to adjust the send/return mix so I can get the final sound I want, or do I need to bounce to a new track and mix that with the original track after?

I feel like there's something obvious that I'm missing.

Thanks
Cindy

I haven't used external inserts but I would set up an effects buss with the external insert. Then add a send from one or more tracks to that buss. That way you can control the wet/dry from track send(s).
