We've come along way
Hey! I accidentaly stumbled over this one on the internet (duh) and thought it was funny. A lot has happened in the world of computer music!! And I can't believe they bring it up on TV;) WARNING: Does not contain Sonar http://www.youtube.com/wa...4svElw&feature=related

I remember when that happened. The locals arts magnet school had a teacher that was on the ground floor with Opcode. He kick started many young people's interest in music with Opcode... and then it disappeared. best regards, mike

I'm not sure if I ever used that one but I remember some weird little MIDI programs that I was totally into when I was a kid, something that came with the PC I think. Sure sparked a lot of interest in this - but looking at it now, it looks almost silly! Thankfully, we don't have to make that kind of music because we're using a computer these days;)

trimph1 I remember doing some weird little music editing stuff on a VAX/VMS....that video dates me.... Boy I must have missed that plug-in! My life as a software consultant revolved around my being a so-called "expert" in most things VAX/VMS (25 years worth of my life - gone forever! lol!). But I never did anything as fun as music editing on that platform.

I remember playing with Dr. T's midi software on my Commodore-64 back in college.

I think my first experience with this computer music stuff was with something called Recording Session which was pre-installed on the family's Olivetti Pentium 90 computer with 600Mb HDD that we probably would never fill up! I actually started re-making one of the tunes I was making back then, at least what I remember of it. Of course, all the stuff I made in it is gone. I didn't know how to save a MIDI file and didn't udnerstand anything of this. But I sure had fun!

This one's easy for me! My first experience with so-called music software was Cakewalk v1.0!
