What Cakewalk software do I need?

I had an old... talking early-90's version of Cakewalk that came with my Sound Blaster wavetable card.  I really enjoyed using it, and liked the features it had.  It was probably awfully simple compared to what's available now.  What Cakewalk software would I want get to replicate the things that early version would do?  I liked being able to construct music by placing notes on a staff, by real time recording (MIDI), and the "piano roll" function.  I've pawed through the Cakewalk products a bit, but thought it would be easier to ask people who were familiar with them and use them.

In addition, it would be nice to be able to sync and record audio tracks along with the MIDI.

Ditto on what Beagle said. MC5 will do all that and more. If it's been a while since you played with a Cakewalk recording platform, you are in for a nice surprise.

MC5 is sweet. It's a basic program, but it will do so much. Buy the box version since it has more stuff in it than you get on the download.  150 instruments in the box verses 50 on the download....and more freebies in the box..... at Staples, Best Buy, and other places as well.
