These are the things I know I'm getting:

Sonar 8 upgrade
Axon AX-100 Guitar to Midi Converter
Carvin SH-575 acoustic/electric/midi guitar

And then there's the other stuff on the wish list that I might get, but won't know about until Christmas. I don't mind waiting, because any of them would be nice. I do have a pair of Royer R-121's on the list, but I think I'm getting a dual-zone wine refrigerator instead because I just got a call regarding delivery of something very large that someone will have to be home to accept. That's okay because I have a bunch of wine in the basement and it would be nice not to have to go down there and rumage around to find this or that bottle.

Merry Christmas,
Paul

Sonar X2 PE, ADK Core i7 920 3.6ghz 12gb, UAD-2 Quad,  2x20"+2x19" LCDs, Focal CMS 50, POD HD500, Layla 3G, PoCo mkII PCI-e, Tranzport, Edirol M-16DX, Remote SL61, Mackie MCU, NI Kore 2, NI Komplete, NI Maschine, etc.

SampleTank2.5.XL.

On Monday morning I ordered from eSoundz.com (they're based in Florida) and paid a lot extra $$$ for 2 day air guarantee delivery, yet 3 days later and the parcel is still in Florida (DHL parcel delivery service) as of 11:00pm 12/18/08.

Checked air-flights for delays = no issues! Also checked my bank details... item paid for on Monday = no issues.

Meanwhile.... that "buy one get one free" offer will expire soon I should have gone to Sweetwater instead but eSoundz was selling the ST for $20 less b/c I have earned credit points.

This so called DHL 2 day air delivery guarantee is misleading, one day late is OK (since it is xmas) but a freaking week late is unacceptable

"Worldwide delivery company DHL announced on November 10, 2008 that it is cutting 9,500 jobs in the U.S. as it phases out domestic air and ground operations by January 30, 2009.

The company will spend $3.8 billion on restructuring costs over two years and reduce its annual operating costs from $5.4 billion to under $1 billion
" ---- [source: bankruptcy attorneys]

I just recently found out that my parcel from eSoundz.com will arrive on: Friday 12/19/08 around 3pm - 5pm. That's one day late but OK considering it's xmas peak season, and it's sad that 9.500 US workers to lose their jobs around xmas.

Another year older, wiser, and continued health (last one being the best present anyone can ask for imo).

All the best to all.

Gigabyte GA-P35-S3G, Q6600 2.4Ghz, Crucial 8gb, EMU 1616, nVidia NVS 440 + Matrox DualHead2Go, WinXP x64 + WinXP x86 Dual-boot, M-Audio ProKeys 88, Technics 5.1 amp., guitar that I never learned to play.

Wookiee Arturia have a collection out , dunno if you saw that? would it work out cheaper to buy that... just a thought. if you haven't got it already.. for a bit more you get 4 synths.. erm yep it's more, but in the long run a fair bit cheaper.. I had that dilemma before when I bought Komplete

http://www.dv247.com/invt/43973/

Large Style, there is another version of that saying.. another year older.. and deeper in debt.. which at time is well

papa, a LOT of people are losing their jobs currently , . we bail out the banks and yet them and the stock traders greed caused some of this BS... Woolworth staff, 25,000 will be jobless after Christmas and that company was going almost 100 years.

What am I getting for christmas?

The prospect of a painfully large credit card bill and probably (if previous christmases are anything to go by) threats of divorce proceedings.

I read your first post and thought WOW he hasn't heard about DHL's difficulties. Then I read this post and thought... WOW he's concerned about the welfare of the DHL emplyess.... I just wanted to say that I think that is some noteworthy and commendable behavior.

WELL DONE! I hope you enjoy your new toys!

Thanks Mike_mccue

After having a better understanding of the situation (9,500 DHL workers to lose their jobs over xmas), just a moment ago eSoundz sent me an Email with an offer to either refund the cost ($20) 2 day air delivery or give me 40 points (credit toward future purchase) ????, I said no because it's not eSoundz fault and if the parcel arrives as late as Monday than that's OK. Then I went on to explain that I recently found out about the 9,500 job losses.

I bought for my wife and myself a 40" Sony Bravia HD TV for the bedroom. Its nice (got it hooked up already)!
I tossed out the cable company and got a couple of Dish Network HD DVRs. MUCH better then the cable company equipment.
I put in my Amazon Wish List a book on Mastering, a book on Mixing and a couple of cook books (yes, I like to cook... I'm from New Orleans.) My wife and I use those Wish Lists for the gifts we exchange. Works very well. Although I usually get her a couple of gifts not in the list.

Her surprise this year is: For the past few weeks I've been repairing and refinishing an old Secretary (combination desk and bookcase) that she got from her mother. It was in bad condition and now it looks pretty nice. I worked on it down in the basement and so she knows nothing about it. (Hope she doesn't read this Forum.)

Colin, I can understand it's not exactly the best start to a new year.. much the time when some *cough* threw something into the crowds at the fireworks by the Thames and it caught my girlfriend at the times eye lid.. A&E on new years day till 5am... that's only one example, and probably the most extreme one why I never go out NYE because there are so many drunken fools about.

I agree, eSoundz are really good about that! Their generous offers (including IKMultimedia offers) is excellent! I have already received excellent discounts and offers for which I appreciate very much and look forward to using ST 2.5 XL.
