Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout!

I'm not sure this is what you were referring to, But I've been dropping hints everywhere for someone to do the "impossible"...

Create a plugin that can un-do clipping! ;-)

Wouldn't that be handy? ;-)

Thanks for that link...

Very impressive... I wonder how far it can go?

The math seemed possible as the slope of the wav should describe it's typical extension.... ?

I thought about this as (among other things) a friend recently sent me a very severely clipped recording of a live performance and I told him I had no way to un-distort it....

Maybe I'll get the suite one day when I have money...?

Thanks again...
Keni

A Channel Tools module please =)

This. Integrate the whole of the Channel Tools plugin within ProChannel.

The Channel Tools seems like the best and most logical progression but I honestly can't see paying $50, or any significant amount of money for that matter, just for it to be incorporated into Pro Channel.

That was kind of my point earlier in the thread.   Why would we want to pay for things we can easily insert already into the FX bin just to have it as part of the proprietary ProChannel and have to pay extra for that?

I'd rather see the PRoChannel split off from the inspector altogether and have it as an insertable "strip".

But if they decide to add modules for free, then Channel Tools would be a good addition to have readily available.

BTW - A tool like channel tools but with that waves type interface so you can see visually where the sound is being projected.

Another vote for spectrum analyzer. Increased stereo control, like waves' S1 Stereo imager, or dual panning knobs like Pro Tools.

I totally agree.
I think to charge for module versions of Cakewalk plugs, that we already have, would be
wholey ridiculous.  Available for free,  included in the next X1 point update or in X2 would
be the way to go.

1 room simulator.

So I have this dry sound of a girl vocalist. And then I can place her in a certain room.

2 K-metering of some sort.

3 The signature Roland sounds in a module. Space Echo, RRS, hmmm and some more Roland 880 reverb style things. Really signature Roland stuff. I don't mind to be a optional module. I mean. It's not for everybody. But it sure is for loads of people some nice stuff. It would be awesome if that Roland module came with a USB box with 4 sliders and some LCD so people can alter values in the reverb module.

Maybe I am completely missing something here on the spectrum analyzer; I'm sure that some one will shed light on this for me.

Are you just asking for a new and better SA, or specifically placed in the PC strip.  It seems like it would be to small to see if just placed in the PC strip and would have to be openned up to a larger view.  In that case, is n't it just more effective on the master bus so that you open it once and solo tracks to the analyzer?

I agree with Billy that if Cake is going to add to PC, they should be new and really good sounding componnents, if we are expected to pay for individual add ons.  Just taking an existing plug and moving it to the PC strip does n't seem like a step forward.

Both.
I often have an analyzer on individual tracks as part of my user fxchains.
To have it built into the PC as a module would sure be more usefull, for me anyway.

I'd like the PC to evolve into a true and forward thinking channel strip, with all the bells and whistles.
The one stop place for everything an individual track might need, right there inline ready to go.

Here's hoping =)

I would like to propose a module for FX Chains 2.0. That way anyone could put whatever they like in the ProChannel.

A new concept =)
Basicly it would read the input into each module and drop the gain if it's running too hot
allowing for more transparent processing.

no offense intended at all - but personally I think I'd rather not allow a module to do that for me.

that sounds kind of like the Octa-capture's automatic gain leveling feature on inputs.  another feature I don't think I'd ever use myself.  I'd rather set the level myself.

Not really a module, but it would be nice if there could be an option or button for a larger, detachable, pop-out window for the Pro Channel EQ similar to something like Pro-Q or EQuick for more precise, detailed work and viewing. I really like the Pro Channel EQ but it still feels a bit clunky and awkward to use at times compared to a lot of the leading competitors.

But we have that already, in the form of FX Chains as it is.

I really don't understand this drive to include everything under the sun in the Pro Channel.

But I'm sure Cake is loving all this market potential ;)

+1

I believe the Pro Channel should remain a fully featured channel strip.
Modules to 'expand' this functionality can only be a good thing.
No delays or reverb, no multi-fx, just pure channel strip type stuff =)

Hmm, this is a hard subject because it deals with both making an input sound, an output sound out of the input sound, and the special editing tweaks that all tracks need. So would you need a multi-function Pro Channel in the Pre and one in the post? It seems like everyone wants a system that will "complete" the process in one throw. The path toward perfecting all the imperfections that happen while recording is a path of constant re-adjustment. How about a golden ear plugin module?

A few people mentioned a de-esser.  Personally, I wouldn't be interested in it, since I already have the Eiosis E2 De-Esser, which is phenomenal.  But, I think that a good de-esser would make sense in the Pro Channel paradigm.  It would be cool if Cakewalk could work with Eiosis to make a "lite" version of their de-esser as a Pro Channel module (i.e., as they did with the Softube saturation module).

Like I said earlier, if it's a fully featured channel strip we're aiming for, then some form of harmonic exciter would be a useful addition. This would be in addition to the Tube Sat. module.
