What Module Will Cakewalk Release Next for the Pro Channel?
I think it should be a reverb! What do you think?

Just curious... are many of you really using a reverb as an insert on individual channels? I think a reverb would be my last choice for a module for the ProChannel. Don

Brickwall limiter. Most of them only have a couple of knobs anyway. Would be a good match for ProChannel.

An LA2A Compressor would be a good one for me... I use virtuals of this thing everywhere... ;-) There are many devices that are plugins, but really only a few things that are used across the board so often... I think the LA2A would be a perfect goto for many things... EQ? How about simply new modes to emulate different hardware? This way they're all there and available on every track. I wouldn't much ever need or want a reverb as a track plugin. I rarely do that... De-Esser? Yes... Should be part of any compressor collection... but how often do you need it across the board? I guess we all have things we use more than others so I think they should make the next plugin, a PC-Wrapper to allow the use of any vst/dx plugin within the PC.... Keni

Since it is a 'channel' something along the lines of console emulation ala Slate Digital's VCC & summing mixbuss with several desk choices would get my $$$.

yes...I use reverb on individual channels for sure... but most of the time on busses, probably like most. I'd think something that "cleans up" the signal AFTER the tube saturation would be good. Something that takes out the distortion, and cleans up the sound. :-D

I'm not sure this is what you were referring to, But I've been dropping hints everywhere for someone to do the "impossible"... Create a plugin that can un-do clipping! ;-) Wouldn't that be handy? ;-) Keni

Just add some tape echo and a guitar tuner tuner. Nothing says they have to be console plugs. A couple modules like that and I could do all my guitar and bass tracking.

Man, don't y'all think we have enough compressors already? I'm hoping for really good noise reduction tools and more tools for vocal editing like a dedicated de-esser.

I'm not sure I get this, so I'm asking in all honesty - why would you guys want something that is, by any other name, a simple plug-in but locked into the PC? Is it something about ease of use or is there any other advantage over regular plug-ins that I'm not seeing? On my end, having a dedicated GUI for the plug-in would seem preferable, but that's as an outsider.

I think the next module should be the Sonitus Compressor. Then Pro Channel will have an actual full function compressor in there that can sound like a 4k, a 1176, a LA2A and a CL-1B with out having to use any presets. That would be so cool.

4 legs bad 2 legs good! What happened to 'no more plugins, just properly finish the tools that are in there'? It's stunning how quickly folk will rearrange their beliefs for a nicely rendered picture of a 70's hifi knob and some lazy adjectives like 'warm' Child

https://soundcloud.com/a-pleasure-dome http://www.bnoir-film.com/ there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. 24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
