What? No Love for Smart Mute/Solo For Drum Maps?
C'mon guys, the wicked witch is dead! There have been buckets of tears shed over this over the years, and not a peep out of anyone? I guess everyone is busy editing drum tracks.

The drum maps getting fixed/loved is at the top of my list along with the new MIDI engine. Seriously love this update. The drum map issues are what had me searching for other daws for so long. Looks like I'll have to get used to so many things getting fixed quickly. I was afraid the acquisition by Gibson was going destroy Cakewalk, and the opposite has happened. The new system RAWKS.
A deep chesty bawl echoes from rimrock to rimrock, rolls down the mountain, and fades into the far blackness of the night. It is an outburst of wild defiant sorrow, and of contempt for all the adversities of the world. - Aldo Leopold

Yes, great news about the drum maps. Looking forward to getting all this stuff updated on my systems. Last night I was mostly engaged in doing the Rapture Pro updating. It was pitifully slow on my laptop (wireless) but a bit speedier on my desktop which is hard wired to the modem.

It was not fixed earlier since there wasn't anything to fix. It was not implemented - important difference :) Seriously sometimes its helps to describe and report issues through the correct channels. I'd never really heard about the drum maps issue being important until recently and only when the problem was finally described properly did it become evident that what people were actually asking for was smart solo/mute via a map. I did the original smart solo implementation in 2002 or so and there were no drum maps at that time so it was never implemented :)

I still need to update my Sonar. Drum map improvements are worthy addition.

Don't use drum maps. I have thought about it as a workaround to manage keyswitching without mangling everything in the notation view (which needs its own improvements, IMO, for folks who work with real orchestras). If they did more than midi note on midi note off and velocity, I would probably use them if you could set them up for specific CCs and specific values on those CCs as a workaround for UACC. That would actually be a good workflow improvement for me, I think.

Doktor Avalanche Anybody tested it yet?
I wouldn't have posted if i hadn't. Works a treat in both directions (i.e. muting/soloing MIDI or synth output tracks) and with maps that route note numbers to different synths. I found no unexpected/undesired behaviors.

Cool... The only thing I can think of that might go wrong now is combinations with takelanes with solo/muting etc at this stage. That's just paranoia from my end.

I tried this last night without even thinking about it - soloed a snare drum and was about to solo the Midi track as well when I realised - hey!! Drum Map solo works!!! This was in Console View.

Yes! This feature is so cool! Makes it so much easier to jump back and forth to dial in a perfect kick sound. Thanks Cakewalk!
