What? What? I can't hear you!
I uploaded a WAV file from my synthesizer to my PC, but when I try to open it - either in media player, iTunes, Quicktime or Music Creator - I can barely hear it. I am VERY new to this. What did I do wrong?

can you see it? Your wave in teh track should have a full presence in the track. I've seen some that looked like a flat line, and yeah that are really low in volume. your track view waves should look like this.... If not.... you're importing low level waves. If the waves are the size of the ones in tracks 3-7 but the track view is as big as 1, 2 or 8, the levels are to low. You need to get them hotter out of the synth.....you can highlight the track by right clicking it..... select PROCESS, AUDIO, NORMALIZE. I would try that for now, BUT ultimately, you want to get bigger waves into the track (read as : Proper input levels) because you do not want to rely on Normalize to fix low input level issues.

Uploaded? How did you do that? If you record it from the synth's audio output you'll have more control of the recording level, but it will take longer, too.

Greg I was assuming he has one of those workstations that can record the audio and then load it out...... but IDK...... I never had one of those things....

I have a Roland Juno-G. Once I create a midi file, I have the option of mixing it down into an audio WAV file and transferring it via USB cable to my hard drive. When I do this, the clarity and effects sound amazing, but the volume is very low.

So is there any way to increase the gain in the Juno in order to make it louder? Would increasing the volume do that? Or you could increase the velocity of each MIDI note prior to mixing it down to .wav, which would have the effect of raising the volume. Or you could just record the audio output of the Juno in an audio track, where you can set the level before you record.

Yeah..... in an earlier version of CAKE I had that problem too. I would mix down a song, and burn it and it would be very low in levels. So you need to figure out how.....when you convert to a wave, to get the levels UP.... can you normalize it in the juno? Have you tried to export it as a MIDI file? You can bring it in as a MIDI and use the internal synth to convert it to a wave...... and use the NORMALIZE function in MC to bring the levels UP..... Normalize will bring the wave up as far as it can go without distortion..... I use it quite a bit at the tracking and mix, and export stages...and I get no complaints about the song being normalized. Try it....you'll like it.

If there is a mixer inside the Juno, you could try to raise the level there before you export the wave file. I have a Digitech effects board for my guitar and it always recorded at a low level and I would have to normalize the imported file in Music Creator several times to bring it up to a decent level. Probably not the best way to do things, but it worked.

grab the manual and read up about levels and exporting waves from the JUNO...it might be an easy fix.
