What are all of these assets files?
Since "so called" upgrading to Win 10...I have all of these assets files in my projects folder?
Anyone know what they are? Can I delete them?

They were needed for the Gobbler integration which is now pretty much history. You can safely delete them, and you can disable their creation in Preferences > File > Advanced.

Brundlefly: do we know for sure they don't do anything not Gobbler related? I'd quite like to purge all that hard drive space with holy fire and a heart full of hate, if I could be sure I wasn't going blow myself up in the process.

Yes. At this time they serve no other purpose. Feel free to delete the files and disable "Save Asset Manifests with Projects." Should they serve some other purpose in the future, enabling the feature will recreate the files.

I wonder why I never saw them before my 10 upgrade? Where they located inside the project folder? Mine were (they are deleted) beneath all of the project folders...I would have noticed that. Some looked like X3b test projects.

IDK. The files are enabled by default. They are stored at the same level as the cwp files.

Windows has a switch for showing or hiding certain types of system files. Maybe that's changed in the upgrade? Just a guess, mind.

Lots of strange things with Win 10. I tried to upload a song to soundcloud last night and got an error. I had to download some kind of mfc120u.dll that was missing from shared utilities.

I've got to say, for me, it was totally painless. Even left me logged into facebook and twitter post update.
I'm not doubting anyone who had a rough upgrade. Seems I got a double dose of Irish luck with it.
