What are rules for re-installing to a new computer?

I submitted a ticket to ask about the best way to re-install, but there's no way I'll ever hear from CS.

So, is there anything I need to know when I replace my PC? I have X3 producer, xlnaudio products (Which were bundled with my X3), and a few plug ins I purchased from Cakewalk. When I replace my PC and do a clean install, I expect problems.

Is there documentation, or something I can refer to?

There is nothing special to do when re-installing SONAR. Other manufacturers do count licenses though. Celemony and XLN Audio do this. Go to your accounts on their sites and remove the old PC to free up the activation for reuse.

If you created presets using the Cakewalk Preset Manager they may be exported/imported using the Plug-in manager. If the presets were made using the plug-in preset manager, the presets will need to be located and copied to the new machine.

I got a new super laptop about a year ago.
Had to install all the way back from Sonar 7 to ensure I got all the plugins.
And the 3rd party stuff I've only just started.

I still use my old machine, one year on.

It sounds like Cakewalk doesn't check the serial number exhaustively. Maybe they do for duplicate installs, but once I crack out my original install discs, and use my serial numbers from my account on Cakewalk.com, it sounds fairly easy. Okay. I have some more confidence now!
    Thanks!
