Whoops. I missed that. I didn't realize that was an absolute requirement. You'll be hard pressed to find something with much range for free though...

About the only thing you'll find are some random choir soundfonts/sfz.  Kontakt Player instruments require licensing fees, so the freebies for it are very "unique" and rare, and no one is doing a choir that way.  BigCat has a choir wrapped as a VST I think.  Search here for Sonatina Choir   http://bigcatinstruments....igcat-maize-vstis.html

Pretty sure there was something on KvR that comes as a Kontakt instrument, but it won't work with the free player.  Google might help there (and help find soundfonts with choir patches)

Cakewalk's Rapture Session has a Melotron Choir patch.  DimensionPro might have some patches too.  But nothing I'd recommend.  Some of the bigger sampler have libraries that come with some kind of choir (Sampletank/UVI Workstation/etc) but most aren't free (or if they have a free version it doesn't include the choir).

Bigcatt is on here fairly regularly: http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?id=2310

These don't sound all the real, but they'll do in a pinch: http://www.dskmusic.com/dsk-choirz/

The free sfz format Virtual Playing Orchestra 2.01, has 3 choir presets included.  Male, Female, and Mixed cover about 3-1/2 octaves.  http://virtualplaying.com..tual-playing-orchestra/

Works with the free Plogue sforzando player (based on ARIA), or the Garritan ARIA player.

DAW: CbB; Sonar Platinum, and others ...

Thanks Mr. Fleer, but I do have Juanita and she's not a "choir".......I'm actually asking this for a good buddy of mine who's looking for a free choir, and doesn't have the full version of Kontakt.

What Dan says seems to be the case though.....hard pressed to find a decent freebie.

It is really tough to find good free choral libraries that don't require Kontakt. Paul on VPO and I both used Mattias samples from Sonatina. I'm note aware of any other PD / CC choir samples. If anyone knows of any please let me know. I'd love to mess about with them.

The only two freebies I can think of both require the full version of Kontakt, but I'll post them here just in case someone else is looking:

Here's something you might want to check out (I didn't watch it, just found it when I was googling another library):

Re: What are some of the best free Choir libraries? 2017/04/19 18:36:44 (permalink)
Choirs are always a big expensive commodity really. VSL offers probably the best in terms of range AFAIK and EWQL with their Wordbuilder application which is sort of OK once you get your head around.....

I gave up a while looking for free choirs. Symphony of Voices was a good one back in the day. I converted it to NN-XT (reason) and Kontakt format a while back. It's not free as such but you know.

Sorry for the necropost but this thread keeps coming up on my blog referrals so someone must still want a free choir. I'm kind of holding off release until I do more instruments with these Google samples, but here is a 'preview' as this is the coolest community. 30 acoustic choir 'patches' in 5 Maize VSTis for Win 64. I think they sound fairly nice with the main drawback being that they are about 3.2 seconds. Anyway if Win 64 doesn't work for you I can do them in some other format.

The one's that can use Kontakt player or any other freebie?

Quite a few years back I was sent a free version of EastWest Orchestral Silver Edition. I already have it, so I never used the license and may still have it somewhere.  It's 32bit not 64, but the choir is not too shabby - also the piano was, at one time, my go-to piano (since surpassed by The Gentleman). If you're interested, that is.

I'll have a dig around later and see if I can send you an upload link. Think of it as a 'good guy' gift ;)

Cakewalk by Bandlab, Sonar Platinum Lifetimer, Windows 10, HP Laptop, CPU i5, RAM 8GB. Audio interface: Edirol FA-101 Firewire interface with moded drivers. Microphones: Audio-Technica, M-Audio, Behringer, AKG. Pianos: Casio digital, Yamaha B1 upright.  Guitars: Dobro, Tanglewood, Danelectro, Fender. Hats: Fez

Thanks for the offer Phillip, very kind of you (this is what makes the Cake community different from any other!!). However, this was for a good buddy of mine and I believe he already got one.....I'll check and see.

EDIT UPDATE: He's still interested.....sent you a PM. :)
