Alive:

Ben Stein
Jon Stewart
Rush Limbaugh
Ann Coulter

With all the fireworks, we'd think it was the 4th of July

Past:
Ghandi
Hitler

Mixed Bag:
John Lennon
Paul McCartney
George Harrison
Ringo Starr

Notice how all three groups would be filled with strife? Hmmmm.....

Try saying "Hawking, Dawkins, Hitchings" three times fast. :)

Even though I loathe the guy, I wouldn't mind a conversation with Mr. Dawkins either.

I think Jesus might be a little over talkative, and I'm not sure I could cope with the size of the bread and fish course.

James Taylor would be good because if he asked for dessert I could say, "What would you like for sweet, Baby James?".

Good call Phillip - he inspired me to start 'stargazing' back in the late sixties and began a lifelong interest in astronomy.

And he was known to be able to bowl some bewildering leg-spin - must be a decent chap!

Now that would be a dinner party worth remembering (if I remembered anything at all).

I don't begrudge him for challenging religion. It should be challenged.
It's just the smarmy way he does it. I don't know. It just gets under my skin.

his books are full of "replies" to perceived sleights he has "suffered" in the past

Though I sure academia is full of that

Yes Academia is full of all that....

A professor of mine one time made the comment that academic battles were so frequent and intense because the stakes were so small. At the time there was a huge uproar beacause a publisher put some book out as "an abriged version" not "the abridged version" of some older book.

God or Jesus. Either would suffice. (1) I could find out about the whole after-life thing. (2) I could find out, why, out of all the glorious creatures, did there have to be a mosquito? Aren't there enough bugs for the bats to eat without having mosquitoes?

Can I skip dinner and just invite Kate Moss for breakfast?

I've been so in love with her for so long and she doesn't even know it....it seems kind of unfair as I may just be 'the one' for her and she is missing out solely because of her unawareness of my existance.

Love can be so cruel.

Patrick Moore on the web

Good call Phillip - he inspired me to start 'stargazing' back in the late sixties and began a lifelong interest in astronomy.

And he was known to be able to bowl some bewildering leg-spin - must be a decent chap!

Joe Strummer, fascinating character, he totally reinvented himself and was the voice of a generation and beyond
Sir Patrick Moore too, as a young lad he wrote a letter to me in reply to my letter to him at the BBC and as a result I became the youngest ever full member of The British Astronomical Association
Annie Lennox - I always felt we would get along swimmingly and a seat at my dinner table would prove this wonderfully.
Finally, the Sonar UK downhill bobsled team, Strummy, Fog and Jonbouy

Lets get the party started !!!!

Dawkins - hmm yeah, perhaps I'd have him over if one of my others canceled at short notice. I read The Selfish Gene and The God Delusion - nothing wrong with questioning religion, and his observations about the way powerful, clever people use it to subjugate and manipulate large tracts of people to further their power and position are valid, but the way he leaves no room for the possibility of something he or any of us may be incapable of understanding just seems intellectually arrogant to my mind. Come his own personal judgment day he may have a big shock, and an eternity to dwell on it...........

Anyway I thought posting here would make my famous person wish come true. It seems I've just wasted my time...hmmph.
