What happened to my "Show notes while recording"

I'm using X1B and I cant figure out what I did to make "Show midi notes in track while recording".  The only time midi notes show up in my track is when I hit the stop button after recording a midi track.   Has anyone seen this?

Under Preferences - Midi - Playback and  Recording is the Notes box checked?

Do you have Confidence Recording enabled?

Press P. Then choose Customization - Display and put a checkmark next to Display Waveform Preview While Recording.

I tried both suggestions with no positive results. Thanks for your suggestions though. Anyone else have anything?

The other day I worked on this a bit.  My notes do show while recording, so I did everything I could think of to make them not show, but was unsuccessful.  Sorry.

Might be helpful to tell us:  Did this work for you pre-X1?  Did it ever work with X1?  Is midi controller a keyboard, and output is ???  Any other MIDI issues?

This actually worked in X1. I'm using a Cakewalk A-800 keyboard with no additional midi issues.  Anyone?

I'm pretty sure there's not a setting for this anymore. It's just supposed to happen. Did you try it on a new project with only a single midi track with no synth inserted and just record note events from your keyboard? Are midi notes not being drawn in PRV or staff view either while recording?
