Probably the eZine describes the "Make No.1-Hit" Button.
And the bakers need a few more days to integrate this new function.

We digitize tapes, vinyl, dat, md ... in broadcast and studio quality for publishers, public institutions and individuals.
4 x Intel Quad-CPU, 4GHz Sonar Platinum (Windows 10 - 64Bit) and 14 computers for recording tapes, vinyl ...

4 x RME Fireface 800, 2 x Roland Octa Capture and 4 x Roland Quad Capture, Focusrite .... Studer A80, RP99, EMT948 ...

Some people complained about the eZine being released early, and some people speculated on things that were said without having the program in hand, so I assume Cakewalk figured it wasn't worth the trouble. I expect it will be released concurrently with the update.

But wouldn't the people with aforementioned "Time travel feature" (mentioned by Anderton in another post), people could start complaining who have already received the eZine from some future date, which in turn caused the Bakers to fix or modify the features based on those complaints, causing a massive time paradox that caused the Universe to cancel itself out!   (I've probably been watching too much Doctor Who while patiently waiting for the next release)

Thanks Anderton.  It is sad that haters have that impact in Cakewalk decisions about the eZine.  To me the eZine was really nice and each month I was expecting it with a little more anxiety than the Sonar update.

I'm glad you like the eZine, you'll have it soon. BTW it grew another page since I mentioned it in the other thread...

It's not that Cakewalk is scared of the haters, it's just too much work to deal with correcting misinformation. There are better uses of the Bakers' time.

I won't say anything about the SONAR-specific features, but here's a teaser...there are five more Rapture programming tips, and "Anatomy of a Sonar Project" covers using the Sonitus Surround plug-in with the QuadCurve to analyze a classic wah so it could be "modeled" (there's a link to download a free FX chain with the wah).

With the early access release of 2016.03 shouldn't the eZine be released with it. If not I expect the "New Features" section in the help is the only way to know what is in the early release.

So is that "wah" like "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! I'm whinging!" Because it seems like it could dramatically simplify forum posting if you can simply specify a frequency and intensity of whine to automatically post to the CW forums :)

AFAIK the eZine gets released with the public release. It gets tweaked until the very last minute; typically CW gets the final version a few hours before the final software ships. Think of it this way: When you get a mastered CD for one final listen, it probably doesn't have the final cover artwork.

I don't want to sound like I'm complaining so don't take this the wrong way, but it's basically up to me to put together the eZine, and it has more editorial pages than many "real" magazines, which have a 60/40 ad-to-edit ratio. So the eZine is more like a 65-page magazine you'd get on the newsstand (I know the math doesn't add up, but in a commercial magazine, any white space would be occupied by ads).

It's not just a lot of effort to put it together and write new material, but it also takes significant effort to lay out and proof. The eZine could always go out earlier, but then it might have some errors..magazines are software, too . If there's the option to keep tweaking it until the release to get it perfect...why not? Yesterday I made a tweak in the instructions for the tempo detection; it wasn't wrong per se, but it included an action that it turned out wasn't needed. So it was removed.

There's probably still a misplaced comma or something in there somewhere, but I think the eZines have been remarkably free of errors. I'm probably too picky about it, after all no one cares about it a month later

But then people will argue about whether it should have been white whine or red whine. And some would have said it should have been rose whine...and still others would say whine sucks, why wasn't it beer?

I do understand Mr Andertons predicament, however I think any sort of public release without documentation available is a mistake.

Easy solution for me is to ignore it and wait for full release.

The public release does have the eZine. I believe early access has the online help. Early access is an "as is" release for those who want it. It is not intended to replace the official public release.

Your opinion doesn't matter because you're complaining about a problem that does not exist. To repeat again, online help, which is indeed documentation, was available with early access. Click "What's New" under Help. In fact you don't even have to download the early access release to see What's New.
