What if...

If all the speakers in the world would play the same note at the same time, then ;

a) the sound would expand endlessly, ultimately creating the "big bang"

b) your neighbour would ask you to turn it down a little

c) the "brown note" effect would come true

d) the evolution would ultimately create bigger ears for us

e) sound of your nagging partner would come more pleasant

f) the bassist would have an oppurtunity to play solo's

    Or in E Aeolian...

    (The geek in me really wants to mention that it's impossible for people to all HEAR that note as being the same - especially if the speaker was moving - but I think I'll refrain from that and wonder if all the power grids would fail instead.)

    You don't fix Bapu.  Bapu fixes you.

    Somehow, that seems wrong.

    a) No, sound cannot travel in a vacuum (except possibly in a Hoover)

    b) No, he'd be playing the same note

    c) No, too Eddie Van Halen

    d) This would take a long time

    e) Definitely

    f) Our bassist can play a solo whenever he likes (as long as it never sees a DAW)

    Sorry, nothing would happen unless all the electromagnetic sources of transmission were off for at least 3 days. In which case the speakers wouldn't work anyway because there would be no power at that point. But in the event that everyone had a generator then there would be so much noise from the generators that the sound from the speakers would get swamped anyway. And it would have to be a perfectly calm day which isn't likely once the weather antennas are off, but if you could trigger a solar flare it might be powerful enough to carry the note.
