What is X1 disc 1 "Cakewalk Content"?

When beginning installation of X1, I am queried where I want to put the Cakewalk content. The setup panel only has a brief description of what these files are, and I cannot see exactly what they are until after I install them. I maintain an orderly file structure on my PC, and want to know exactly what they are before I can determine where I want to install them.

Can anyone enlighten me?

thanks

Keith

They are all the supplemental files such as project templates, track templates, loops, etc. Everything is now stored under a single folder called Cakewalk Content, which then contains subfolders with the content. These are then easily accessible via the new Browser in X1.

The Cakewlak Content folder has the following folders:

-Audio Library (audio Loops that come with X1.)
-MIDI Library (MIDI Loops that come with X1.)
-SONAR X1 Producer (Lots of the VST presets that come with X1, project templates, CAL scripts, metronome sounds, and extra stuff like that.)

Thanks for the quick replies. I would like to put the audio on my dedicated audio hard drive, and the rest of the content on my data drive. If, after I install all of this, I am hoping to be able to move each directory where I want it and set up the paths under the global options folder page.

Will this strategy work under X1?

    thanks again

Actually, the Cakewalk Content and Cakewalk Project folders are separate. During the installation, you'll be asked where you want to put the Cakewalk Content folder. Put that on your data drive. Then after installation, you can put your project/audio folder on your audio drive by changing paths under Edit > Preferences.
