What is a good free synth VST with a variety of sounds?

Hello, I was wondering if there are any good free synth VST's out there that have a variety of sounds. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Try Ugoaudio.com.  He has several free synths that cover several possiblities of sound generation - Rez (mono w/ filter), string, texture etc.  More than enough to get you started.

    Synth 1 is a great freebie, and there is lots of extra sound banks out there for it, 38 on Kvr alone :

    Don't forget Superwave 8. Just do a search in your browser for it. Comes with a ton of presets.
