What is the EQ under "Clips" selection?

In Track View, along with Clip Envelopes, on the pop up menu within the Clips button is a list of EQ elements (Filters 1-6, Q 1-6 etc.).  If you understand what I am talking about, what is this?

I have some transients from an acoustic guitar (tapping that tends to sound like clipping) that I want to tame and I was thinking of hitting each with an eq.  I was wondering if there were some way to use the clip eq above, but have no idea how it works.

Thanks

Either this is an old project (Pre-X series) with the per-track EQ not converted to the ProChannel Quad Curve EQ or a Sonitus EQ is in the FX bin. Those are automation envelops available for the Sonitus EQ.
