What is the difference?

I see, within the 'Post New Thread' screen that I now have an 'image' button and a 'Click here to upload! Embed picture in post' option.

What is the difference if any?

I would like to upload pictures of my studio but the 'Click here to upload' states, when trying a 2nd file, that I can only upload a single file per message.

TIA,
Lance

this does have the embed option selected

EDIT - it does what i expected. It uploads the file for you and does the "[image]location[/image]" for you

to do multiple images in one post it would be easier to do the normal thing and link the images to an external web server

its also interesting that i still doesn't let you upload pics in the older forums (eg sonar forum) but it does in the newer ones (eg coffee house and v-studio). perhaps they forgot to disable it lol

    Thanks Robert.

It is your second post, containing the actual picture, which I wish to accomplish.

In the thread where people show pictures of their studios it appears that this is the method that is being used.

I have four pictures that I wish to post in that thread, but the system states that I can only upload a single file. At this point I am curious if this limitation is unique now that the forums were revamped, if I have a limitation for unknown reasons, or if everyone who has posted multiple pictures have found a way to string them together in a single picture that remains under the 200kb restriction.

    TIA everyone,
    Lance

I see the thread at Picture question is dealing with the same issue.

Should I suspect then that the thread of studio pictures are all being drawn in from an external photo storing site?

what people do is upload their pictures onto a web server and then use the "[image]insert web_address_here[/image]" code to pu the image in the post. You can do this as many times as you like.

You can use something like flickr or facebook. Once you have uploaded the picture, get the web address of the image. eg this is a random image of facebook. I just right clicked on the image and selected copy image address (im not sure if you can do that in all browsers)

the code i typed is as below except with [ and ] at the start and end rather then { and }:

There's a quick 'How To' guide to taking screenshots and using Photobucket toward the end of this post: http://forum.cakewalk.com/fb.asp?m=1592276

BTW, another thing that's changed in here is there is no option to subscribe to a thread.
