What is this feeling - cover.
Here's a little number from the musical Wicked. Sung by my three girls, Sam, Gaby and Elli over the weekend. The two lead parts are Sam and Gaby, Elli is in the chorus line. The chorus line is the three of them recorded multiple times, singing assorted harmonies, and doubled and tripled up to around 30 - 40 voices. What is this feeling Enjoy

You have some talented girls Karyn! Great job. I think I detected a slight British accent in there as well ;)

Thanks Janet and Danny, No, I didn't do the backing track for this one. I found it on U-toob and ripped it (shhhss). It seems to be a propper cast recording, without the cast.. I also found an orriginal cast recording (which I ripped) and the backing is a perfect match. I put the full cast recording on track 1 and the backing on track 2 so I could cross-fade between them to turn on/off the cast vocals. Very effective. The hard part was matching the reverb settings for the girls vocals to what is on the backing track so they appear in the same "space". Some master buss compression and hard limiting also helps to glue the parts together. Actually, the hardest bit was convincing them that most of the apparent vocal lines they heard in the chorus line part didn't actually exist and were the result of several harmony parts. That effect where you have a lower part with (say) 2 notes rising then 2 notes falling, and a high harmony starting 2 notes falling then 2 notes rising. On playback it sounds like the lower harmony is 4 notes all rising while the high harmony is 4 notes all falling... Hours of arguments over that... I think my next project will be to replace the ripped backing with my own, I have the piano score so it shouldn't be too hard.

Nice... sounds like a show tune. Good job.... But..... can they play the cowbell, and more importantly..... can they shoot small groups?

Very cool! I like this a lot. I think the girls should switch off singing during the unison parts though. Other than that, Very well done!
