What would you like to see in 2018.8?
Me: ARA 2 preparedness with a chord track and chord detection like Studio One Pro V4. I'm using these in SO4P and they are brilliant.

I doubt we'll see that in 2018.8, but it doesn't hurt to ask. That chord track feature request has been on the list here for years. I assume that it will be a big project to add it to Cakewalk. The fact that Cakewalk already has ARA integration is a good step, and maybe now with ARA 2 coming, that could be prime time for it! It's definitely got my vote!

Ha!
Sure... fir me it's a fast response.
Fixing the many issues with display/zoom of Lane situations!
I do not want/need the track/promoted image most of the time when Lanes are open/displayed.
And relative sizes!
If Lanes are open, I (obviously) wish to see/work on them. Why would I want a giant (useless) track image and tiny Lanes?

10 - Drag and drop audio and MIDI files without having to create audio or MIDI tracks first. This is already possible. Just drag to the white space in the track view or clips view. >>Me: ARA 2 preparedness with a chord track and chord detection like Studio One Pro V4. ARA 2 support will come in due time. It hasn't even shipped to users from Celemony so its premature. I've been in the loop with them and have had discussions about the feature set.

A "What's ON/OFF module" A Control bar module with: - A ripple edit light - A cross fade light - A OffSet mode light to let you know when those features are engaged. To expand on that idea.. Possibly an information module too. Giving specifics about the project and/or selected tracks. This way users who don't like the new toast pop up can hide it and users (like me) who like it can have it in a control bar Module.

If you're just wanting to use your Tascam DM24 as a DAW controller in HUI mode (i.e. you only need the DM24's subset, and not the whole HUI emulation), you could try adding it as a C.M.Labs MotorMix. Their protocols are pretty similar.

Chord track like Studio One v4 would have me using Cakewalk most of the time. Oh, on the other hand, the Ripple Edit feature in v4 Studio One is only half-baked as compared to Ripple Edit in Cakewalk. It cannot move any time signatures or markers. Ripple Edit in Cakewalk rocks!

- ability to have Mute-Solo-R-A-A controls separately in narrow track mode when is free space on strip for a single control. Not when is space for whole controls bar (very annoying to be forced to restore strip size just to turn on/off mute and then minimize again). - ability to change color for whole track folder with contents at once - better placement (dynamic?) for color pallet when changing color not to veil color rectangles to let match colors visually for neighboring tracks - kind of smart loading when importing waves into project templates based on file names. For instance every file which contains word 'bass' gets color, routing defined by user as default for bass etc... - ability to create template with buses.

I agree that TTS-1 is mature and doesn't need many changes. One thing that bugs me about TTS-1 (and the GrooveSynth) is that you can't just click on an arrow to get to the next/previous preset. You need to traverse menus and submenus, which is fine if you are pulling up a new instrument, but cumbersome if you want to switch back and forth between organ patches.

As I see we have small updates. So:
-smart tool with split feature like in S1. Put it on a clip and split. -group transient markers for multitracked instruments (more easy than “add to pool”) -“add gain” feature in clips (with smart cut and this feature it would be great and fast to make stable dynamic audio clips). - maybe more simple container like S1 to simply drag them in project

Less resource consumption for audio recording: I noticed that other DAWs need significantly less system resources for a simple audio recording (project with max. 5 tracks, and only +TH3), i.e. I can use lower buffer sizes (less delay) than in CbB without having clicks. That is why I currently use Samplitude instead of CbB for guitar recording (on the laptop). The audio recording is also much more stable.

Which audio interface are you using, what driver mode and how many tracks are you recording at once? Also what are your hardware specs and mention any specific changes you have made to the audio preferences in CbB. I have zero problems dialing in the lowest latency on my audio device (RME UFX) and recording with input monitoring on. Recording at low latency itself doesn't take a lot of resources at all. Its the plugin's in the project that typically cause more load at low latency. Are you getting clicks simply recording a single track at low latency with an empty project? If so there is something else going on. Try running the DPC latency tester on your system. There could be external factors affecting this.

a13xhp I think that you are asking too much... I will be very happy with any of this additions: 1 - An update to our beloved General Midi synth (Cakewalk TTS-1).
Oh yessss, please. It has some very nice instruments, but for example to apply .scl files (tuning hacks) would be great. And some more drum sounds. a13xhp 2 - Improvements in the staff editor, which I think is abandoned.
Oh yessss, please. Especially an xml export would be fine, so staff editing could be exported to notation programs which often have xml import. a13xhp 3 - 6 Especially about point 6, web page and forum: It works well, doesn't it? a13xhp 7 - The possibility of buying Cakewalk synths and effects.
Oh yessss, please. There are quirte some things in the old Sonar installation that should come along with Sonat by Bandlab. a13xhp 8 - Refinements for the Skylight interface. For me, it seems a little bit bloated sometimes (Cubase 9 has copied the Skylight layout but I dont know... It seems more "clean"). 9- More stability improvements and bug fixes. 10 - Drag and drop audio and MIDI files without having to create audio or MIDI tracks first.
11 - Drag and drop fx-chains with all automation lines from an audio output track to a bus track. I have, for example, some percussion track with fx-chain and automation, later I find there should be some more percussion, so I create another track for those, but then I wish to apply the same fx-chain ti the new percussion. I did not find that it is possible to copy automation lanes from an audio track to a bus track.
