What's that smell? (No it isn't bacon)

 
Someone's studio is about to turn red. :)
 
I say red but it's called Cranberry Zing. Whoever comes up wit the names, dude... Oh well, at least that's one outlet for their creativity that's not hurting anyone. Who knows how they'd call there kids otherwise?
 
I've always loved painting - back when I was a teenager, it was a blessing as a summer job, compared to the rest of the crappy jobs I had. I remember re-painting the entire house my parents had bought before they moved in all by myself - just me, my tools and music. For whatever reasons, I have very fond memories of that week or so.
 
Also grabbed a couple of wall torches/candle holders - should give the room the ambience I'm after. I've already made the room a whole lot darker last time I moved things around. I seem to work better when I'm in my dark little cocoon so to speak.
 
Of course, once the walls are dry, we can start on working on sound treatment - and that's something I've very anxious to do. It's way, way, way overdue, and as I've been working on stuff with a lot more low frequencies lately, I need to take care of those corners...

The one thing which does suck is that stucco is as omnipresent in Vegas as is white carpeting - my studio is no exception. It has all 3 "classics" - stucco on the ceiling, textured walls and the infamous eggshell-ish carpet.
 
From what I remember from the time we painted a couple of walls in the condo where we used to live here, just getting the tape to line up correctly with the wall and to adequately cover the ceiling is quite a drag. 

We demand a picture post when done! 

Heck, I expect a time-lapse video of the whole task.

James is an expert at trimming.  Not sure what your studio will look like when he's done though... 

Want to come paint mine Rain?... wife says she's going to paint my studio once the soundproofing is complete.. I have my concerns LOL. And, oh yeah, we pay in Becan?

Have they? I'm pretty sure bacon back home is exactly the same as bacon here - unless I'm missing something.
 
At any rate, I eat neither ham nor bacon - Canadian, American or even Mongolian; non-issue for me. :P

I understand you guys like it but I swear that it looks perfectly nasty to me. 
 
Give me hearts of palms instead - that'll be my equivalent of bacon.

I'd forgotten how boring preparation really was - especially since tape refuses to stick properly to the stucco and seems more inclined to demonstrate to wonders of gravity. I actually had to pin the tape back using thumbtacks in a bunch of spots... :/

That one's the loveliest. She's never far from me, sleeps on my feet every night - or in my clothes. And we talk a lot - she's quite vocal and I'm not bad at answering back, so I think she's developed that habit even more.

This little one was a stray that REALLY, REALLY, REALLY made sure that someone would adopt her.  I wasn't in a position for any pet but my next door neighbor couldn't resist and named her Chloe.  She would use both of our houses as if she owned them so we did our share of kitty sitting.  I had never had a cat in the house before so waking up when it was still dark-30 and suddenly realizing there was something right in my face was a bit unnerving.  She would wait until my eyes focused a bit then go "Meow?" as if to say "Are you awake?"  Sure made me laugh after I got over the shock. 

Aww she really is adorable.
 
Waking up a couple of times a night because of the cats is part of our routine - and you reach a point where it's just so normal that you fall right back asleep.
 
I have more of a problem with the fact that they seem to go completely crazy when they hear that "click" when we turn out the light - everything goes then, jumping in the curtain, knocking things over, fighting under the bed, running over us...
 
A frickin' pain in the neck But I'd miss it.

Incidentally, it's surprising how much brighter the room sounds without those panels of fabric and how different the room sound with everything tucked in the middle.
