What's the holdup??

I ordered my boxed upgrade of X3 producer from X2 producer from my sales guy at Sweetwater a couple of days after X3 was released by Cake.  They still don't have any in stock...and aren't expecting any till the 28th at the earliest.  What gives??  I know I could've downloaded or ordered directly from Cake and gotten it by now...but what's with the huge delay in getting it to resellers??

I guess it depends on which version ( X3, X3a, X3b ) they have/had in stock and rather they are waiting for the newer ones. That's why I downloaded but I love having the boxed version to archive so I will be spending the extra $ for the box when all the version dust settles.

I'll find out. It should be there soon. There's a little lag between when we release and the time it takes to get the box to resellers and on shelves.

I ordered from SW the day it was released (it indicated BOXED COPY IN STOCK).  It wasn't.  At least the sales droid called - wanted to sell me the download which I declined, as the only reason I was buying from them was to get the boxed (for archive purposes) at the download price.

Seems SW really dropped the ball on selling Sonar.  They jumped the gun with the ad before it was released, then don't really have the boxed 'in stock' even though it clearly said boxed, in-stock.

Happy I got mine direct from Cakewalk/Tascam/Gibson.

Well, got a notice this morning that it shipped yesterday via first class mail.  Sweetwater is usually ahead of the game and not behind it...very odd.

I went the download rt for the first time ever nd it all worked perfect. I may still order the boxed version. I know some people can make disks but... I don't know how. I'm not sure why I would ever need the boxed version. Couldn't I just download X3 again if my computer dies? I really should clone my disk... famous last words.
