What's this piano roll in this video
A minute in, the video has a piano roll overlay. Is it just a video graphics spiced up midi file created from the audio, or a an actual anaylizer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3qYfe7Nsdc

I think it's probably just a custom animation created from a MIDI file. It's certainly been spiced up somewhat, I don't know if most of it is displaying the notes accurately but at 1:36 there is a descending swoop which they're definitely not playing....

Weird. The bass player was rushed to the ER with whiplash.

I noticed that too after I had posted. It was a nice effect from their video, suits their style.

That Jamerson video is cool. I got liked to it from a bass forum when I started to learn. It really helped me with the phrasing, as I was using a bass tab. My attempt has dwindled out, but I'm going to come back to it as I am much better now, though still not very much a beginner on bass. Vulpeck are brilliant, so glad you are digging them too. Absolutely quality musicians, great tone in their recordings, cool sense of humoir and funky videos. I picked up on them a while back after seeing one of their videos where the drummer is playing a lampshade. But they have become a recent re-discovery, and I've delved deeper it to their work this time round. The vocalist they sometimes add is perfect for them. I love 1612. Which I think may be a bout the lyric writing process itself, but I may have got that wrong. Christmas in LA puts a cheer in this grouch.

Nice ... I bet this would be fun to have in a bar on a Saturday Night, if they have a really good list of stuff to play ... very cool and enjoyable ...
