Whatever happened to the "Add Nodes at Selection"?

Do I need to add this to the long list of functionality removed in X1 or did they just hide it?

Its not really removed its just acheived differently and some would say easier.

With the envelope selected, highlite the area in the timeline, then move your mouse to the to the top 3rd of the clip and left click and drag up or down this automatically adds the nodes and also adjusts the envelope at the same time.

Its a very quick method IMHO.

    Hope that helps

Yep, this is so quick now it's almost automatic. You don't even need to sweep the timeline. Select sweep in the bottom half of the clip and then as STinGA says click in the top 25% of the clip and drag up or down depending on which way you want the envelope to go.

Takes longer to read how to do it than actually do it.

Yep, it's now SO much quicker to achieve this - I don't even have to think about it.

    Swipe & drag, done.

It also means moving the whole envelope is essentially the same gesture; you just do the same thing without a selection.

Heh, Scott - you're an incredibly generous and helpful guy for sure- and we all benefit from your efforts - BUT making me watch a Starbucks commercial before seeing how to add nodes is a little over the top LOL.

    J/K -- I hope they pay you well :D

    Hey Billy,

Sorry about that... yeah, I don't drink Starbucks coffee either.

As far as pay... it ain't much, but if it helps me to keep providing free content, then it's worth it.

Thanks and I hope you enjoyed the video!

Do I need to add this to the long list of functionality removed in X1 or did they just hide it?
They changed how you do it, and changed the terminology so you can't find where it is in the manual to learn how it works now.

But keep smiling. You love it, you know you do.

I agree it's an improvement FBB ... but for Pete sake, tell us about it and don't change TFM so it's impossible to figure out how to do it.

If it wasn't for Scott, we still wouldn't know about it.

I've posted elsewhere that IMHO the manual is long overdue a complete re-write not just an update.

Thanks to all for the help.  I also find the "manual" quite useless.  So they didn't remove the functionality they hid it.   I knew it was one or the other.   I suppose that's better than the things that they removed but hid the fact that they removed it.

The manual is messed up. What I did was, I downloaded the Reference manual. It's the help manual in PDF format. It's easier to search. Using F1 while in Sonar and searching does not always yield expected results.

Ah, but this is the master workshop manual. The one that tech support uses when it gets stuck.
