What's Up with Lasso Zoom in PRV???

This is frustrating... (too)

In PRV attempting to use Z-Click-Drag to lasso/zoom an area...

Sometimes it works... More often, not... It does nothing an a second attempt to lasso-zoom creates dual-areas connected at a corner and stretching in a bizzare manner... Unable to control area to zoom!
