What's improved with the MP3 export?
I've just installed Platinum and I'm enjoying everything so far , but when I export mixes to MP3, i don't see anything different at all. In the Cambridge press release, it mentioned improved MP3 export.... Just seeing if I am missing something.

The dll was updated to the current version of LAME. Files created using variable bit rate encoding now report correct run lengths. There may be more but those are the two I recall.

There are lots of improvements optimizations and fixes. Whether you might notice them depends on your use. The full change log can be found here. http://lame.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/lame/lame/doc/html/history.html?revision=HEAD To summarize some important areas - there are some encoding enhancements for vbr (variable bit rate) files and also vbr files encoded by SONAR are now more compatible with windows media player and other mp3 players. The file duration for such files will now be accurately reported.

It's good to know that improvements are being made to the Lame MP3 function. There is one thing I wish could be done. The "Comments" area at the bottom of the options popup in prior Sonar versions used to retain my copyright information but now in S. Platinum it comes up blank so I have to retype copyright information every time I use it. It's a minor thing.

Thanks guys! I wish there was a place to set your default mp3 export options. Im with MFanning. Its minor, but i wish we could set all the song info within the project-info area, so when we export, all the proper fields ie. Song title, band name, track number, bit rate, etc were all filled out.

@MFanning - FWIW the LAME encoder setup still remembers my ID3 info, including the copyright comment, so I don't think this is a Sonar "2015" issue.

Not to highjack the thread, but does anybody know where the "Export Audio presets" are kept? I had some setup with X3 that I'd like to use in SPlat, but I can't find them. Also, have I corrupted the stock presets? For instance, "Share with Soundcloud - FLAC" calls up WAV format; "Share with Soundcloud - WAV" calls WAVEX; "Share with Soundcloud - MP3" calls Soundcloud - FLAC.

Thanks Scook! That solves that.
