I got home at 5:30pm tonight. when I let the dogs inside, I looked at the thermometer on the patio (patio is covered with a screen) and it was 108F. there's no way I'm interested in sitting out there!

Bub Karyn Bub It costs $65 to fill the tank in my truck. It costs $165 to fill the tank in mine... I have a 22 gallon tank, how much does yours hold? If it ever got that expensive here for 22 gallons of gas there would be riots in the streets. It got so bad with people driving off without paying for their gas when it was $4.00 a gallon that some of the places out here started making you pay first. You used to be able to hit a button on the pump that said 'Pay Inside' so you could go in and get a soda, snack etc and pay for it all at once. Your gallons are smaller than the rest of the world... I think mine holds about 20 real gallons, or about 90 litres. We pay £1.37 per litre for diesel. That's $8.35 US gallon.

Trumph1- Is that deer in your yard?? Nice pic! Russel- You must be a young guy play'in wit de peeps in de crib.More power to ya man. Randy- I can't believe how similar we are on this, only difference being that I am the cook so no one is feeding me(you a lucky bloke) and when I am in the studio trying to record, my wife looks in and smiles at me then proceeds to open a plastic bag or turn on the TV and I have to ask her to please stop making the noise, offending said wife. It still works well though and life is still good as I don't record much lately. Mesh- That's what its all about right? quantumeffect- Don't get me started here...gluttony is absolutely included!! Your probably not really a glutton, you merely have the ability to eat large quantities of food. Them Italians can cook. You got me to thinking. I might be eating out tonight! Beagle- All of the heat from over there is supposed to be coming over here next week, thank you very much!! Not 108F though more like 95F and low humidity so not too shabby if I go out later when its cool outside.Enjoy the A/C !! Bub- If you have to think about the gas in the tank that takes all the fun out of it! Steve- I need to copy and save this list. Its a good one. Janet- Those grandchildren are wonderful! Have a three myself, makes me feel old though even though I'm still a 40 something.....Gosh I AM old. I tried to go on the beach with my wife and they thought I was a beached whale. Only the book saved me.Do the birds there stop singing at a certain time?? I would swear that here they are all on a clock. Soon after dusk and at mid morning its as if someone threw an off switch. Jonbouy- I hope this isn't from a source of heat we are talking about.....some things are better melted though. trumph1- Oh dear!! Nice Very Very nice!!

I think mine holds about 20 real gallons, or about 90 litres. We pay £1.37 per litre for diesel. That's $8.35 US gallon. I found a chart that shows our gallons are larger in comparison, but I'm probably misunderstanding it and I'm thinking backwards. I never was good at conversions. :( 3.79L = 1USG/.83UKG. The conversion for my tank which holds 26USG (Not 22 like I thought) would be 21.65UKG or 98.42L. I never let it get really low ... but if I had to fill it completely up in one shot it would be around $97. Gas is hovering around $3.50 ~ $3.75 here. I guess it's one of those situations where we import/use more so we get it cheaper? Like buying in bulk? Still, like I said before ... about $4 is the max it can get here before people start stealing it. BO threatened to release a few million barrels of our reserve a week or so ago. I don't know if he ever did it, but gas dropped a few pennies for a couple days and shot right back up. "Bub- If you have to think about the gas in the tank that takes all the fun out of it" It's not the gas I'm thinking of, it's what it takes to put it there. Being out of work and leeching off the government for the moment, I feel kind of funny about taking leisurely strolls through the countryside so I have refrained for the time being. Things'll get sweet again soon, I can feel it. Then I'll be wallowing away my free hours in my 55,875 square mile corn maze.

Still, like I said before ... about $4 is the max it can get here before people start stealing it. I know our fuel is taxed to buggery over here Bub. For example, £2.65 ($4.28) of an Imperial gallon of unleaded petrol is excise duty - then they add a further 20% VAT (Value Added Tax) to the combined price of the fuel and the duty! Currently, petrol is around £6.15 ($9.93) a gallon. So the VAT portion of the tax is £1.02 and the duty is £2.65 and the actual price of the fuel is 'only' £2.47 a gallon with £3.67 in tax

Philz- I love that combo for staying up late, almost as good as 5 hour energy and it tastes better too!! I understand that smack works pretty well too but I never took that up, thank God. Bub- I hope you can get to the place you want to be. Driving around for the fun of it was a pastime for me long ago when gas was less than a dollar a gallon and all I had to pay for was my car. Those were the days. Now I only do that when I'm feeling like I want to get out of the house. If I'm feeling particularly moody which is not very often. I might go for a drive to avoid snapping at someone or saying something I will later regret.Kind of a therapy.......

Another one is a day well spent (=feeling good in the evening) which is discustingly rare :o/ :o).
