What's that sound? Sounds like reverb? Yamaha problem?

Ok, I'm a little new to music creater. I used to use Noteworthy composer, but my wife bought me this for Christmas along with a new keyboard. I'm pretty new to all this so pardon me if I ask something that should be obvious.

Anyway, I've got a Yamaha PSR-E203 keyboard using an m-audio Uno midi interface. When I go to record anything, it doesn't recognize all the notes that I'm playing. It actually recognizes that there is an input, but it doesn't replay the note that I played. Instead, it plays some wierd reverb type of noise. It does recognize some of the notes, but not all of them and I've yet to determine if it is any particular notes or just any note in general. I would appreciate any help I could get with this. Thanks!
